Friday Afternoon--Bartell to start?
Friday, November 18, 2005
- It was nice to see Coach Mike Martz at Friday's practice. Martz stopped by for about 30 minutes, chatting with players and coaches. He appears to be in good health and good spirits. He stopped by on Monday, too, to give a little speech to the players and let them know how much is still attainable despite the 4-5 record.
- It looks like it will be Blaine Saipaia getting the start at right guard in place of Adam Timmerman on Sunday. Timmerman was dressed for Friday's practice but did almost nothing and Saipaia confirmed that he will likely get the start. Saipaia should do just fine at guard. He doesn't have the size or reach to play tackle as more than a fill in, but he should fare well in smaller space. He has the punch and strength to fill in admirably for TImmerman.
- Travis Fisher also looks like he will be out after doing nothing in practice all week. Ronald Bartell appears to be the guy that will get the start in Fisher's stead, but if he doesn't, Bartell will still get plenty of opportunities to prove himself against the Cardinals. Bartell is actually a good matchup for the big Arizona receivers. He could be a good cover for Anquan Boldin. Boldin is big and talented, but still dealing with a knee injury. If Boldin is hobbled slightly, Bartell could really give him problems.
- Running back Marshall Faulk and defensive lineman Tyoka Jackson were back in some action during Friday's practice and both should be ready to go Sunday.
- Back with more in a little while.

Thanks Man, Yeah Bartrell Should Start, He Proved Himself Against N.o. And Jac..... Fisher May Be A Veteran And I Actually Do Like Him, He Is Hurt And Needs To Stop Playing Or Something

Yea man let Bartell start. He is doing better than Fisher. Although Bartell did have one mistake it was against Jacksonville but it was a rookie mistake. nothing big.

Our secondary was just officially upgraded from horrendous to not very good.
Bartell will be a major upgrade and I hope to see Ivy playing a lot as well. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.
