Funny Claiborne made one fan's all decade bust team...
From NFL Draft Forum:
Last 10 year all bust team (which leaves out Tony Mandarich and A. Bruce)...
OFFENSE:
QB - Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Heath Shuler
RB - KiJana Carter, Curtis Enis, Tim Biakabatuka
WR - Michael Westbrook, Yatil Green, Sylvester Morris
TE - Rickey Dudley,
OL - Matt Stinchcomb, Aaron Gibson, (couldn't find anymore)
DEFENSE:
DE - Mike Mamula, Andre Wadsworth, Courtney Brown, Jason Peter, Dimitrius Underwood
DT - Dan Wilkenson, DeWayne Robertson
OLB - Jamir Miller, Chris Claiborne, John Thierry
MLB - Trev Alberts, Reggie Brown, Andy Katzenmoyer
CB - Antonio Langham, Deltha O'Neal, Terry Fair, Jeff Burris
S - Derrick Gibson
Now a lot of these I base on their hype coming out of college. They may be ok players, but the don't come close to matching their hype...

Pretty lame overall.
I find particularly annoying the inclusion of guys like Ki-Jana Carter and Yatil Green who both blew out their knees in training camp before playing a single game. That does not make a player a "bust," in my book.

I don't see how players who are starting for teams can be considered busts. Guys like Claiborne and O'Neal are very solid starters. I guarantee you I can find a bigger bust from the years those players were drafted.

Re: Funny Claiborne made one fan's all decade bust team...
Did Claiborne play OLB all of his NFL career? I remember him saying he's been trying to get back to the middle where he'll play for the Rams, so I assume that's where he was in college. Maybe he's just that much better suited for the middle and he'll perform better than he did on the outside.
And hopefully Thomas performs better moving to the outside from the middle, since I believe he played OLB in college too.

I'm pretty sure Thomas played MLB in college, actually, because I thought I remembered there being a lot of talk when he shifted inside about him going back to his college position.

Tim, you've hit the nail on the head. Claiborne knew only the middle at USC, and what's the first thing the Lions do when they draft him.....they moved him outside (where he was fair) because they had a Pro Bowl MLB in Stephen Boyd. Boyd got injured and Claiborne moved inside where his career really took off. Then he went for the brass ring and went to Minnesota. However, Minnesota was sold on EJ Henderson and put Claiborne back outside again, and again he didn't live up to expectation. Henderson wasn't shining so they moved Claiborne inside and again, he looked great until he dealt with a couple of recent injuries.
There are two things keeping Claiborne from being a standout:
1. Consistent time at MLB (it's his now)
2. Injuries (he's healed now, hope the Ed doesn't screw him up)

I guess the funny thing is that Robert Thomas could easily be on the list...
I think RT will thrive under veteran leadership this year if he can stay healthy

Sandra Bullock belongs on an "all bust" list before Chris Claiborne does.
