Re: Georgia, A Short History
I love the part that mentions McGwire's home runs. I guess back then that would have invoked a feeling of pride.
Seriously, if Georgia was a man, no one would be questioning her rise to success. People do a lot of dirty things when money and business come into the equation, no matter their gender. And people who are envious generally don't speak well of them.
That's my $.02.
Re: Georgia, A Short History
i disagree 100% that if she was a man no one would be questioning her rise to success. She did NOTHING to rise to success other than be married to a rich man who died. Whereupon she promptly ignored her husbands explicit wishes by holding a large public memorial service and then firing his son from running the team. This was a tax planning issue pure and simple and she just ignored what her husband wanted. Stabbed a dead man right in the back. Man or woman,, this is totally unethical and 7 marriages is nothing to be proud of either. No leadership of any kind as the situation at rams park has become untenable. That has nothing to do with her sex. You want to make the gender persecution argument regarding martha stewart thats one thing, but it makes no sense in this situation. She knows nothing about business and has allowed her 800 million asset to be grossly mismanaged.

Actually, I wasn't thinking at all about Martha Stewart (sp?), but I'm not too fond of her. Must be her New England-ishness.
If you're talking about ethics, then yes, you'll have to exclude Georgia. You'll also exclude a lot of others too. I just think when it comes to money and business, some people will do anything and if marrying your way to the top is your only means of mobility, then so be it. People get screwed in all fashions.
No, that doesn't make it right.
Re: Georgia, A Short History
My only point about Georgia anymore is that she needs to stop being an absentee landlord. If she wants the job of slumlord, she's doing a mighty fine job of auditioning for it at the moment.

Very nice thread : What G.C. and the others have said here I totally agree with ... I lived in O.C. at the time that happened ! ! And their is ALOT more too the story than some of you know ! ! I have meet Steve more than once at some functions we were both at ... Carroll was a great swimer ... with what I know and have been told by people that were close to all that ... I can tell you that Carrolls death was not an _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ I have no facts nor does anyone esle that would really know say anything , I'am person of respect , With her I have none ! ! Yes alot of fans hate her for taking the Rams away form their home they had for yrs and yrs ... Thats not the only thing I dislke about her , Its was a planed move to move the RAMS for yrs after Carrolls death but the Nfl would not let her move the team do to the market place being in the top (3) in the country so she had to show she was losing $ and fan support was on the down side the rest is in the history books , She is not stupid she knew what she was doing ... Let me tell some you that did not know or live their at that time ... the fan base that resides in L.A. Then and now is massive more than most would care beleave , In fact if the truth was brought out , The largest fan base in one area of the country would still be in L.A. Just because of the size and the amount of people their ... For me I dont care where they play I will be a RAM till death .... Any story that would make this person anything other than a gold digger is WRONG (and that is a FACT) Sorry if this post affended anyone this is a very sore subject for me hope you all dont mind thanks...
