Ginn, Jenkins, Carolina, The Draft...Pieces are coming together...
Perhaps we really are going to swap with Carolina in the draft...This is from ESPN's Rumor Central...
Ginn to Carolina?
<Apr. 17> Even though Ginn Jr. might drop out of the top 10 due to his slow-healing foot injury, there are some interesting possibilities for the former Ohio State star in the top 15, writes John Clayton. One of the most interesting destinations for Ginn is Carolina, which has the 14th pick.
It might be more likely for the Panthers to take a defensive player, but Ginn offers some youth and explosion at receiver. Plus, he can take some pressure off Steve Smith, who only wants to help out on returns in critical situations.
How weird, that Linehan is making a big fuss over this guy, and we have the better pick of 13...Maybe this is where we swap picks, and give up a 3rd or 2nd for Jenkins...
Thoughts?

well, i will say this. Carolina isnt going to take a defensive lineman in round 1 no matter what pick we have. thus, if they want to get ahead of us and take ginn, god bless them. we will still get the guy we want anyway (ie whatever defensive player is the best left on the board)

Playa, thats what I am saying, Linehan is using that smokescreen so they'll take the bait and a swap and a 3rd or 2nd sounds like a nice deal...see what I am saying?

Re: Ginn, Jenkins, Carolina, The Draft...Pieces are coming together...
it worked last year if linehan hadnt claimed to be "interested" in cutler we wouldnt have got an extra third round draft pick off denver, why not try it again but with ginn and the panthers.....dont really surprise me that ginn is being used as a smokescreen as most ram fans on here realise....dont want to make it to well known tho as the rest of the NFL may catch onto what linehan is upto.....its obviously not the first time this sort of thing has happened but its good to have a HC who will use every inch of what he can get to help make our beloved rams a better football team!
its them george allen similarities again!!!!

Don't get your hopes up. I don't think the Rams will trade for Jenkins.

Wasn't La'Roi supposed to be some help too? Forget the guys who are passed their prime. This team needs some new blood. Besides I heard Jenkins is surprised he may be on the trading block!

Re: Ginn, Jenkins, Carolina, The Draft...Pieces are coming together...
I think I might have ESP or something.
Case 1:
I maid a thread over a week ago saying we should trade for a DT and some people said they did not think there was one out their to trade for with in a few days the Jenkins on the trading block rumor came up.
Link to Case 1 thread:
Trade for Interior DL help?
Case 2:
I made a thread about us swapping our 1 with Carolina and now people are discussing that as a posibility.
Link to Case 2 thread:
Whats the chance we swap 1s with Carolina and give them a 2nd or 3rd?
Now if case 1 and 2 happen. I will be selling my house and moving to Vegas.

Re: Ginn, Jenkins, Carolina, The Draft...Pieces are coming together...
Trading for Jenkins doesnt mean we give up getting any other young players in the draft. It looks like if we do trade for Jenkins we would still have two first day picks, either a 1st and a 2nd or a 1st and a 3rd. We can still grab some youth for the DL. In fact its not out of the question to still take a player like Branch or Okoye should they drop to us in the 1st.

Yeah, my thoughts are that that is Clayton just speculating, and that nothing in that paragraph indicates that Carolina in reality is in the least bit actually thinking what Clayton here imagines they are thinking.
It's not reporting, it's an editorial with Clayton just playing amateur GM.
Which means, so far, there;s nothing to indicate Carolina is thinking anything about Ginn one way or another.
