Give me one good reason why.........
Steven Jackson has barely been thrown to since 2006.....
2004 St. Louis Rams 19 189 9.9 28 0 4 0
2005 St. Louis Rams 43 320 7.4 27 2 1 0
2006 St. Louis Rams 90 806 9.0 64t 3 7 1
2007 St. Louis Rams 38 271 7.1 37 1 3 0
2008 St. Louis Rams 40 379 9.5 53 1 5 2
2009 St. Louis Rams 51 322 6.3 38 0 3 0
2010 St. Louis Rams 46 383 8.3 49 0 4 1
2011 St. Louis Rams 42 333 7.9 50 1 1 1
TOTAL 369 3,003 8.1 64t 8 28 5
I mean look at the stats. He has half as many catches in each season but also has half the yards.
So... what exactly is the problem here? We need to get this man the ball.

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
2006 was his breakout season and I believe the only season he played all 16 games. Other than that, do you think that the crappy offense was to blame?

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
Either he's being held in to block or being used as a decoy. Also, I'm sure opposing defense are keying on him. So pick 1 of the 3 guesses I just produced.

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
He's been used as a blocker, but also I have noticed that he sometimes drops very easy throws which help contribute to those statistics.

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
He may drop a few, but he is a terrific receiver. The simple answer is that we need all the help we can get to block and he has become a very good blocker. In addition, with essentially no deep threat, its a lot harder to throw the dump off and underneath stuff.

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
Could be he is actually being "held" by defenses (in addition to being kept in to block). Opposing teams "held" Marshall Faulk coming out of the backfield on occasion - the Cheatriots did so successfully in the Super Bowl .. As I recall, Marshall was tackled at least once to prevent him from becoming a target out of the backfield.

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
I don't buy that at all. I remember when he had a broken hand and was still catching them with one hand.
I hope this year we can try to get the ball to him more in the passing game the guy is a beast to bring down.
Btw 2006 was the last year we finished without a losing record. Coincidence? I think not.

One good reason: past HC + OC = wrong scheme(s).
Coming soon to a Ram Jax near you ... new OL, new WRs, new offense!

Re: Give me one good reason why.........
In my opinion we dont want Jackson catching the ball 90 times. He is our running back and i think him getting between 35 and 65 is enough. We need our wr's to do the wide recieving. Jackson has enough miles on him that we dont need him being our number 1 guy at wr to.

Rams offensive coordinators keep using the "ask madden" feature, which always picks terrible plays.
