The Good, The Bad and the UGLY vs Vikes

    The good:

Fine job by the O-line all day, gave the QBS time and made some holes for Jackson and others. Everyone though Barron would get eaten alive, but no penalties and held the dangerous Jared Allen at bay all day ( the fumble return wasn't his fault)

Tackling was solid, another stellar game from Laurinaitis, with pick and great tackling. Stopped the run for the most part except inside the 5.

Good work by WR, only a couple drops, and Jackson ran hard again.

Kick return and coverages were very good.

    Some blitzing actually occurred

Bulger 7-7 and looked pretty good.

More passes to the TE, who actually caught most.
Good opening play call to McMichael
The Bad: Getting beaten deep far too often, rookie Brad Fletcher had a another sorry day.

Again: How about covering the tight end.

Press coverage was poor on quick slants again.

    Pass rush was only so-so

Boller missed some open receivers deep and was horrific in the red zone, especially leading up to the pick. A little touch and arch on some balls in the red zone would have meant at least 2 TD.

Some bad run choices by Boller.
    THE UGGGLLLYYYY !

The Tony Banks moment by Boller that made it 14-0 when it should have been at least 7-3. Is it the #12 and those old unis?

The poor handoff and play call on Jackson's fumble

The back in fumble by Fells

    Brad Fletcher, overall

Boller nearly getting decapitated on a cheap foul.

Leonard Little having to go after a Vikings fan behind the bench (One can imagine what he was saying to #91)

WAYYY to much noise from about 10000 Vikings fans in attendance.
Probably will be the same with Colts fans next game.

Add in the cheap hit on Gary Gibson, he's out for the season now.

He got rolled into. How is that cheap? Unfortunate, yes. Cheap, no.

It was late and unnecessary, even the announcer saw it.

The good, we are still in the hunt for the #1 draft pick and the unis looked sharp.
The bad, see 38-10 drubbing in HD.

Terrible game. Glad I missed it.

Good to see a hobbled Bulger played pretty well. If I see #12 on this field again, either Null changed his number or we got a new WR. Boller should be done forever.

I haven't been overly impressed by Fletcher, but its not like we're getting constantly torched by 20+ yard pass plays on defense. I think we gave only one up today, despite facing a team with decent receivers. We only gave up one or two against Green Bay, which has very good receivers. Given our anemic pass rush, you ought to be surprised we're not giving these kinds of plays up constantly.

Whoa Moose, wouldn't say it was terrible, lots to build off of today. If we protect the ball it would have been a close game.

We moved the ball on one of the top defenses in the NFL. There aren't suppose to be moral victories in the NFL, but at this point I'm gonna take what I can get.

Why Boller is a decent backup and he did fine today despite the fumble. Sure he had a few overthrows and misses but you tell me what QB doesn't in a game. You may say the pick but that was just him trying to make a play on 4th down and a mishap by Amendola. He kept the offense alive several times during the game only to have Jackson and Fells fumble in the redzone which cost us 17 points. The handoff was half and half Boller slightly missed on it and Jackson didn't secure the ball which led to that fumble. But by no means should Boller be done forever thats not even rational.

I think the problem with Boller is that this is as good as it gets. He'd be fine if he was more accurate, particularly on the short routes, but he's generally not. But, like you said, that's why he's a backup.

I think you are being a little to critical on Fletch who is a rookie BTW. He gave up the big play to rice, but he was in good coverage and it was a great ball by farve, but he made the rookie mistake. The fact that he has already taken over healthy veteran Jonathan Wade is impressive in itself. He is physical and IMO huge improvement over his Green bay game. IMO all are young guys are getting valuable experience and are getting better every day.

Wasnt the pass he gave up a long throw that was behind the receiver that Sidney Rice made a great play to haul in? He cant be expected to prevent a completion on every single pass thrown to his side, its just unrealistic. Great plays beat any type of coverage.
