Good game, Clan!

Seriously; good game.

Obviously I'm disappointed, but for what it's worth that was a pretty fun game. Griffin had a terrific game and I'm still super excited about this season. But man Amendola had a monster game for you guys! Just terrific work. It's hard to keep up with a performance like that.

A few quick initial reaction bullet points:

• RG3 ♥
• London Fletcher ♥
• The whiny homer in me wants to complain about the free 3 points the refs gave y`all, but I won't. ;-)
• Speaking of which, that was the most horribly officiated game I've seen. On both sides of the ball. Just terrible. The Rams got hosed over and over. The 'skins got hosed over and over. The League should be embarrassed.
• Amendola is a stud!!
• I hope Saffold is OK. Seriously.
• I also hope that the Redskins coaches dress down Josh Morgan. That final personal foul was inexcusable. I don't care if Finnegan hit you in the head; you need to be aware of the situation. After everything else that happens and you rob of us a potential tying FG because you want to throw a tantrum? GTFO
• ALSO speaking of personal fouls..there honestly should've been more. On both sides. This was a contentious, chippy game on the field with players sniping at each other from the word "go". The refs let this game get out of hand and a few extra flags to reign it in early would would've put an end to it.
• What did I say in my "Hello again" thread? Oh yeah it was, "To be quite honest though I'm worried going into this week. St. Louis is a lot stronger than folks give them credit for." I hate being right.

It was a great game. kinda got too chippy the refs let this thing get away from them IMO.

RG III is the real deal. Redskins will be in contention for the NFC East all year.

Yeah, I think the refs were to blame for a lot in this game. In fact, I'd daresay that some of the "chippiness" was probably because the players were getting so worked up about all the bad calls. Guys were getting called for late hits before the guy was out of bounds in some cases and not getting them called at all other times. The refs didn't seem to be reviewing scoring plays, and it didn't look like they were going to review the fumble that Fisher challenged, either (even though technically he couldn't). I agree that there was some stuff on both sides that wasn't getting called. It was an exciting game, but the inconsistent officiating should never play as much of a role in the outcome of the game as it did today.
