Thread: Good Rams beat writers?

    Good Rams beat writers?

    Hey guys, I've been working on Ram tweets based site. It organizes them based on writers, players, and bloggers. I have all the Rams players. I'm severley lacking in the writer and blogger department though.

    Right now the priority is to get more writers though. They are typically the guys who break news or leak rumors the fastest. Do you guys happen to know any good ones off hand who stick to coverage on the Rams?

    The writers who I've found so far are

    @espn_nfcwest
    @jthom1
    @ron_clements
    @digeiner
    @hbalzer721

    If you want to check out the site or see how I'm using the writers you can see it here: Rams | NFL tweeter I'd appreciate feedback as well.

    Any other writers you guys are aware of? If you wan't to throw in a few respected blogs that's okay too. I just want ones with decent twitter feeds and not personal life stuff. Right now I have

    @ramsgab
    @cbssportsnflstl
    @turfshowtimes

    Thanks again!

    That's Mike Sando. He's okay, but he's from Seattle, so I'm not sure I'd call him a Rams beat writer.

    @jthom1
    Jim Thomas from the St. Louis Post Dispatch. He covers the Rams along with Jeff Gordon, Bernie Miklasz and Brian Burwell. Thomas is a fairly straight shooter, and doesn't venture too far out there with speculation.

    @ron_clements
    A blogger, but one of the better ones.

    @digeiner
    Don't know who that is.

    @hbalzer721
    Local (St. Louis) TV/Radio beat writer. Howard is generally "in-the-know," but some see him as a "homer."

    @ramsgab
    Don't know that one.

    @cbssportsnflstl
    Local CBS affilliate?

    @turfshowtimes
    A blog. This one kind of annoys me, because it tends to take reports from other media sources (often times mere rumors or speculation) and repackage them as original stories. I don't think they have any inside information at all.

    You can also check out:

    @softlistl - Tony Softli: commentator and former Rams scouting department employee.

    @stullystl - Brian Stull: Rams radio/sideline reporter.

    Thanks again![/QUOTE]

    Ya I figured throw Sando in there for the division news purposes. Its nice to hear whats going on with the rest of the division and how it effects the Rams.

    And checked out the other guys, awesome. Added, thanks a lot.

    I don't think I've ever seen Tony Softli "break" any news, he seems to just tweet things he sees from other twitter pages like Adam Shefter's

    Nick Wagoner is the Senior writer for stlouisrams.com and could be a good source.

    I'll be adding him in tonight. The feeds get a little funky when you make changes... so have to do it overnight. Thanks.
