I have to say I had a lot of respect for Brady, now I will watch to see if his play comes down.

But then I must ask......with such an advantage, why have the Pats led the league in scoring only once?

Look what they did the year before 2006. Who where their WR? They had no one, then they get Moss who looked like he was washed up and they light up the NFL. IMO in the NFL it come down to 3 to 5 plays to win a game. The players still have to perform.
I think the Pats have had better players on D then O.

Personally, I think the NFL is trying to protect more than just the pats. I have not read a lot of uproar from other teams and I suspect that is probably due to the fact that stealing signals is more common, throughout the NFL, than we are led to believe.

Whining or no whining the commisioner has not looked very interested in the truth in this case right from the start. I'm just tired of the bull**** from the commisioner where he tries to look real tough on crime while he's busy trying to sweep everything under the rug to save face.

As I previously posted in another thread on this topic - It's Over - at the start of next season defensive signals from the sidelines will be a thing of the past. One defensive player will now be allowed to wear the wireless device in his helmet. You will now see defensive coaches on the sidelines covering their mouths while they speak into the mic of the headset so the paid lipreader from the opposing team can't read what defense they are calling.

Interesting. If this it true the NFL is at least coming up with a way of eliminating the problem of other teams figuring out the defensive signals. They will have to use the equipment during open practices, just in case someone with bad intentions is hanging around.
The NFL does not want to go back in the past and look around. I am not sure what good it would do since many teams probably are guilty of gaining this sort of information. Do you fans really want to know that the system is flawed?

The NFL has handled this whole situation badly from the beginning. By destroying evidence, declaring that evidence is "Nothing New" before ever seeing it, and by given a BS punishment (The Patsites should have lost their highest first round pick and not their original one.) Even if nothing inappropriate has been done in the handling of this incident, they certainly have given off vibes that it has.
P.S.
If the Pats weren't looking at the tapes during the games, why were they taping them? The Steelers game was a non-divisional opponent in an AFC championship game- what would looking at the tapes AFTER the game was over do for them exactly?

Tis true Moloch, Spectar and Comcast are hungry for money and money talks. This case may continue on due to the money implications. I wonder how Comcast is affected by who wins or losses games or if cheating was involved?

I've always wondered why the NFL didn't institute this at the same time as they did with the offense. I figured it would happen at aome point.

Re: Goodell says "Nothing New" in Spygate
Would anyone agree that if the coach of the Patriots had been thrown out of the league for the 07 season, this would be over??
I mean what should the punishment have been, that would have made this topic go away for the league, Just asking.

I think that this probably goes a bit deeper. If the Pats hadn't been so dominant in the past few years, this story would have lost its legs a long time ago.
That being said, many fans (NFL fans, not just Rams fans) feel that the punishment from the league wasn't severe enough. Granted, $500K is a bunch of cash. However, it just doesn't feel like it's enough to punish someone for calling the integrity of the game into question. The league took away the Pats 1st round draft pick(#31). That might have helped, except the league let them keep the #1 pick they got from the dingbats by-the-bay. That was the 7th pick of the draft. That took the sting of losing the 31st pick away.
The Pats coaching staff knew what they were doing was wrong. Yet they did it anyway. Do/have other teams done this? Probably, but NE got caught. The league shoud have made an example of them to deter others. Instead, many fans from 31 other teams are left wondering if this is going to happen again. No matter what some writers and talk show hosts think, this will leave an indellible stain on the game and on the legacy of the Patriots organization, players and coaches.

I think if either he had been suspended or they had lost their first- first round pick, it probably would be much more diminished, but no one is really taking the punishment they got as serious. Does anyone really believe that Bellichek is paying that fine out of his own pocket? And yeah, they lost a late first round pick, but had a higher one in their pocket to play with.

I think it's more a way for Comcast to give the NFL a black eye rather than them having a vested interest in who wins or loses.
