Re: Grady Jackson
Great move. Man Our DL would be great.
Hargrove - SHowed late last year that he will be a force in sacking.
Jackson - Big literally big force in run stopping.
Glover - Big DT who can get the QB and help our DBs out.
Little - One of the best Pass/Run stopping defensive ends out there.RamsFan16

Re: Grady Jackson
Grady Jackson would be good move for Rams to bolster defensive line. I like him. Put him alongside with Leonard Little, La'Roi Glover, and Anthony Hargrove.

Re: Grady Jackson
I think Jackson's best years are behind him, but if the Rams sign him, he's not going to be an every-down defender. He's going to come in and then rotate out with Jimmy Kennedy, who himself is a pretty large guy also.
The fact is he's a massive guy who is going to command attention on the line and free up pass rushers like Glover from the interior and Little from the edge. He's also going to take up space and engage linemen, allowing our linebackers room to roam and find the ball carrier while hopefully taking on as few blocks as possible. This would be great for us, considering we don't exactly have mammoths at LB.
I think signing Jackson to a 2-3 year deal would be optimal, and would just about complete the makeover of our defensive line. I like the idea of he and Kennedy on a rotation next to Glover, and really think their veteran presence inside will only help our outside edge rushers.

Re: Grady Jackson
We need another veteran presence on the D-line because currently we are lacking. Haslett may not rotate them as much as Koller did but we have only Kennedy right now. Grady Jackson would be a deffinate quality addition to this line.

Re: Grady Jackson
I think Kennedy will step up anyways, so I don't think he's much of a necessity

Re: Grady Jackson
He showed nothing of the sort, at least not in any consistent manner. He may yet improve, but its far from a settled issue that he's a starting quality DE.

For the post right above mine -- just because Kennedy would pan out doesn't mean we don't need another DT. Good NFL defenses rotate at least three guys at that slot, if not four.

I said late last year. Not the whole season.

Re: Grady Jackson
Adds solid depth to a depleted unit as role player. 2 years tops and not at a kings ransom either.

Re: Grady Jackson
Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has spoken with free-agent DT Grady Jackson,
who played in Green Bay last fall, about the possibility of playing in St.
Louis.
Make him sign Haslett

Re: Grady Jackson
I just read on ESPN.com under the rumors that he has interest from us, the falcons, bengals, and the giants, and that he wanted a contract in the neighborhood of 3 years and 12 mil. Not worth that type of money at all!

Re: Grady Jackson
Oh, I don't know. I mean he's not the Grady Jackson of 5 years ago, or even three years ago, but depending on the guaranteed amount and how backloaded it was, a 3 year 12 mil. deal could be quite a steal for Jackson.

Re: Grady Jackson
Yea. We could give him a little this year and then most of it in 2007 when the cap is 109mil and then the rest in 2008!

Re: Grady Jackson
how about a 4 year 14 mil back loaded deal... you know something like 5 mil signing bonus and 1 mil in 2006, 1.5 in 2007 , 2 mil in 2008 and 4 mil in 2009.. that would spread the cap hit to 2.5 this season, 3 mil in 08 ect.. that wouldnt be too bad.
