Olson appears headed to Tampa

Rams offensive coordinator Greg Olson appears headed to Tampa Bay as the Buccaneers’ quarterback coach, according to league sources.

In Tampa, Olson will be reunited with Pro Bowl quarterback Jeff Garcia. Olson was Garcia’s quarterbacks coach in San Francisco in 2001, when Garcia threw a career-high 32 touchdown passes, and also in 2005 in Detroit. Olson even attended Garcia’s wedding.

After spending two seasons in St. Louis working for head coach Scott Linehan, Olson was told he would not be the Rams’ offensive coordinator in ’08, was subject to reassignment on the staff, but also was free to seek another job.

In addition, recently fired Rams running backs coach Wayne Moses could be heading to a similar post at UCLA.
