That's even very poor for a baseball players batting average!

I take it you're done with Spags, Dez?

If you look at the entire 70-plus year history of this franchise, no head coach who stayed on the job for longer than one
season has had a worse won-loss record than Spagnuolo. With 40 games under his belt, Spags is 9-31

Oh I am done with him all right!

Yeah this is getting pretty terrible. I don't know if I can consider him worse then Linehans 4 TE sets and screen passes, but its damn close.

I'm guessing that no coach ever took on a worse team than the one Spags inherited from Linehan.

I'm also guessing Jim Harbaugh has a better winning percentage than Bill Walsh but no one is going to call him the greatest niner coach of all time are they?

This is partly Linehan's fault? What's he been doing here lately? Spiking the Rams' Gatorade? When would you attribute all the blame to the current regime? Billy Devaney And Steve Spagnuolo are in the middle of their third season, and I see no improvement on the field, none, zip. Wouldn't you expect at least a tiny bit of improvement?

On the active 53 man roster, only nine players are leftovers from Linehan's regime, and three of those players are almost exlusively special teams players.

    RB Steven Jackson
    DE Chris Long
    DE James Hall
    T Adam Goldberg
    G Jacob Bell
    CB Justin King
    LB Chris Chamberlain
    K Josh Brown
    P Donnie Jones

Are you saying these players are the cancer that needs to be removed so that Spags can lead the Rams to the promise land?

And your Jim Harbaugh vs Bill Walsh comparison is absurd in this instance, and you know it. If you make a more honest comparison of what Jim Harbaugh has accomplished vs Steve Spagnuolo... it's startling. Which would you want to be the head coach of your team right now?

I am not guessing, those are the facts.

Nope. He was 40 wins - 33 losses with the Rams. He lead the team to a 1979 Superbowl appearance.

Re: Guess who is the worse coach in the HISTORY of the Rams

With all the missed opportunities and lack of discipline shown on the field week in and week out, it's fairly easy to conclude this team now REQUIRES a coach that gets in your face. Gruden signed an extenstion with ESPN, and Cowher says he won't come back, but even if he does, how could this front office convince him to come here? Lastly, what happens to Devaney, whom hax brought very few playmakers here during his time. And to think we're barely at the halfway mark of the season, Spags might save his job with 4-5 wins in my opinion.

    Comon'!!!

It's not Spag's Fault. It's the uniforms. Gotta go throw backs all the time.

IMO, seriously, there was a very long line of suckiness before him lending to team he has now.

Rome is never going to be built in a day, but will always be overrun in a minute when you call the QB Chrissy with only an old wire spool as your outer defense. <my apologies, the italicized text was probably not helpful, but can't bring myself to remove it either>.

I'm pretty sure almost everyone here forgot how they wanted to fire Vermeil for the disappointing seasons prior to his Super Bowl win. Now I'm not saying I have Spags's back 100% but we've got to see how he progresses through this season before we move on. Though I do think Spags needs to grow a spine and show some emotion when the players (particularly the O-line) are shooting themselves in the foot, the way he just gives them a mulligan is probably the reason why they're not playing at their full potential but he just needs to get in their face the same way Steven Jackson did to Saffold during that false start.

I got a vision of Spag's popping veins chewing a player out, Bill Cowher style, head cocked back, almost looking vertical, his spittle splattering all of the players chest........because that is as high as it would reach on the player.

He may need some backup in that approach.
