Gus Frerotte could land in St. Louis or Denver if cut by the Dolphins
Frerotte has experience with both the Rams and Broncos coaching staffs.
He would be a great backup to Marc Bulger

I was expecting Frerotte to be Bulgers backup, Linehan likes him, and he played quite well last year considering he isnt really a starter
The Rams had looked at Gus a few years back. If he could have been in this system all along, He would excellent. A great back up for sure.
I would not be opposed to the Idea , He would be great help to fitz in his growth...
I mentioned this in another post. I think he would be a good back up for Bulger. I would feel much better if he was here because if Bulger goes down, with what we have now we are most likely done.Quote:

Since we are focusing on Defense, Bulger could be in trouble again next year behind our mediocre offensive line. We could see him go down again by week 4.
Bulger needs to try to bulk up a bit this offseason. Put on a few pounds.
There will need to be some changes in Miami before this happens. Frerotte is the incumbent starter and more importantly, the only qb on their roster right now. Sage Rosenfels is gone as is A.J. Feeley. They might go after Culpepper or Brees but in either case, they're going to need somene to mind the store until either of them are completely healthy.
mokler is right the dolphins do not even have a QB other than Frerotte on the team right now.. if frerotte is not released what about jay fiedler or tommy maddox
bruce4life, please don't even say those names outloud. I'd be much more comfortable just rolling the dice with Smoker and Fitzpatrick than Maddox. I guess Fiedler would be servicable but there are better veteran options out there if need be. Someone else started a thread about this recently and suggested McCown, which I'm not completely opposed to as a 2nd stringer but I think a guy like Rattay would be a better option. Cheaper, smarter and possibly more upside as a potential starter.
