Hadley says Rams are trying to get Fletcher back

    Hadley Notes from KTRS

Posted by austinram on the Herd Board--

Hadley said there has been some preliminary discussions between the Rams and Bills on London Fletcher returning to St Louis (no guarantees though). Pierce and Hartwell are #2 and #3 on their MLB list, respectively.

Rams have a keen interest in acquiring DT Pat Williams. If they can't get him, an alternative maybe Jeff Zgonina. The Rams also have intentions of moving Damione Lewis outside to DE.

According to Hadley, Bryce Fisher and Tommy Polly are gone.

Believe or not, Hadley said the Rams will focus heavily on offensive line in the draft (a bit surprised on that one because of their recent draft history).

At this point, he's merely sharted. We'll have to wait until something substantial happens before he really needs a new pair of pants.

I'm from Missouri, so Hadley better show-me. Nothing I've read from him gives me any reason to trust what he has to say. It sounds like he's just blowing smoke again.

But if we somehow do get Fletcher back, I will personally apologize. I hope they plan on getting at least 1 other LB though.

In my opinion this would really suck rocks!!!!

We would be again in the same position, severally under sized. Not making a run for Hartwell would be a big mistake. Pierce is not going any where, I hear he is working on a long term contract with the Skins.

I would really be bummed to see London back...ass much as I like the guy, he would not fit with our current mix of size. Besides we would probally have to give up at least a second rounder for him. DUMB!

I don't know why we haven't tried this yet. D-Lew can't work in traffic, but brings good speed with great power from the outside. He would be quite the compliment to Little. I think this is a good idea, and (as much as I hate to agree with him) this sounds like something Marmie would do. Instant bulk-up at DE.

Gee, I hate to sound uninformed but just who is this Pierce guy and why haven't I heard of him? P.S. ( yeah, I know that "uninformed" is just another way of saying 'ignorant' but it does sound better)

    WHAT SAY YE?

Antonio Pierce was an undrafted free agent signing of the Redskins in 2001, and was their leading tackle this season after starting 15 games at middle linebacker. He amassed 110 tackles, 1 sack, and two interceptions, one of which he scored on. He's a quality special teams player, and seemed to perform well as a first-season starter, but I'd rather go after some more proven names at this point. I see him as a B-level free agent that would make a nice secondary target if we can't nab Hartwell.

No doubt, Fletcher is/was very good. Bring him back to us? No, I don't think so.

This is one of those things that I'll believe it when I see it. However, I don't own an authentic jersey yet, but if LF comes back to the Rams, that will be my first.
