Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
Really proud of this football team. To be 7-7-1 after last year's horror show is a tribute to everyone involved with this club- from the front office to the coaches to the players. We've sometimes won ugly and suffered a couple of embarrassing losses, but this team is driven and has persevered. Sundays have been enjoyable again. A list of accomplishments that have happened this season:
1)We have a shot at a winning record.
2)We have a shot at an undefeated conference record.
3)We beat the ******* and should've beaten them a second time.
4)We have 3 road wins.
5)Our draft was a good one, with contributions from a lot of guys.
6)We're tied for 2nd in the league in sacks.
7)Steven Jackson is 10 yards away from an 8th consecutive 1000 yard season, the longest current NFL streak.
8)Janoris Jenkins has 3 int's for TDs, tying a rookie record.
9)Greg Zeurlein had 3 FGs of over 50 yards in the same game, including a 60 yarder.
10)We have an extra #1 pick coming our way the next two years, plus other selections.
11)Important pieces like Robert Quinn and Lance Kendricks have improved.
I'm sure I've missed a number of other achievements/notable happenings; these are just the ones off the top of my head that stand out. We are building something special. 2013 holds much promise.

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
even though they won't make the playoffs, they were a playoff team this year, which is saying a LOT
next year they'll make the playoffs for sure!

I was excited when we hired Fisher, I was excited when they made the trade. Now I'm going to enjoy the holidays with the family knowing we have turned the corner!

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
I am happy. I was hoping for an 8-8 season, but with the tie against the whiners, and a win the next time around, I am happy with where we are.
Next year...I expect a 10-6 record.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

I am happy with this season even though we are missing the playoffs which we could of made with 1 game turning different. But all in all im very happy we not only won but we showed progress which is very exciting. We played some quality teams, lost to some and beat some, but we battled in all (minus Pats game)You cant not be excited about this teams future.Hopefully we have a great offseason and add more talent we can really do something next year!!!

I agree wholeheartedly. Fisher has turned this team around and even as the youngest team in football we have improved a ton.
If we can shore up our line, get a couple more playmakers on offense and replace Dahl we should contend for a playoff spot next year(with three picks in the first 50 and a bit of money to spend on free agency we should be able to).

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
Rome was not built in a day and turning around a franchise that set lows for the past 5 years.....there is no miracle cure. I think Jeff F did the best he could with this roster and he will continue to build with his guys. I look forward to the offseason moves, draft and then the on field product.....I' fully expect playoff football next year for the Rams!!

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
I expected a 6-10 record at the start of the season. They've already exceeded expectations minus the ugly losses against Green Bay, New England, and New York. I'm expecting above a .500 season in 2013.

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
The Rams have exceeded my expectations by 1 or 2 games depending on next weeks outcome. Another good draft, a trade or two, a free agent signing or two and next year should be even better. Excellent job by the new coaching staff.

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
They played hard and were 'in' almost every game...right to the end. Frankly, I would have preferred about 2 fewer losses...so they could have drafted in a much better slot. All things considered, very decent year.

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
Excellent thread and very impressive year for our Rams. Despite not making the playoffs I think we'll be a team to be reckoned with next year going forward. As NJ said in the first post we've accomplished many positives this year and we have every reason to believe there will be more next year. Incidentally, Fargo, 2 fewer losses would have made us a playoff team and given us a worse drafting position, not better. You probably meant the opposite. Regardless, we have 2 round 1 picks and I am confident that we'll make the best of them. Meanwhile let's hope for a strong finish and a good off-season. Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year to my fellow Clanners.
Go Rams!

Re: Happy with 2012, excited for 2013
In turning this dreadful 2011 team, into a playoff contender in one short offseason. Whilst still being very mindfull of their blueprint for the future. The Rams coaching staff have definitely appeased my mind, and left me feeling a helluva lot more relaxed about our teams future. Next season should be even better in my mind.
GO RAMS

i agree, although i think you mean undefeated division, not conference. We lost to Green Bay and Chicago who are in the same conference as us
