Tell me about it! There was no way around it in this case though. The only other time slot was during a time where I had another class scheduled.

I'm still am unsure why children should receive gifts on their birthday. The parents already gave the child the gift of life. One ceremony should have been enough. If you want to commercialize the birthday ritual, perhaps the child should be giving the parents gifts in order to "thank" them for having brought it into the world in the 1st place. Maybe we should just add a new national holiday, the Birth Day. It could replace Columbus Day and be celebrated on April 1st.
