Re: haslett hires two assistants
On the one hand, i dont have a clue.
On the other hand, once you hire the boss, you have to defer to his judgment in terms of who he is comfortable having working for him. I am fine with haslett, thus, i am fine with whoever he wants as assistants.
At the end of the day, we arent going to win or lose anything based on who the position coaches are. We need better players.

Re: haslett hires two assistants
Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Jim Haslett plans to bring former NFL assistant coach Rick Venturi aboard the coaching staff. Venturi previously served as the New Orleans Saints' defensive coordinator when Haslett was the Saints' head coach.
We are getting deep with quality coaches. Our new DC was a head coach last year and Venturi was a DC last year will be an asst. coach. This can't be a bad thing.

Re: haslett hires two assistants
Venturi was a head coach for the Colts, Browns, and Saints. Check his record, you might be surprised. Pathetic to say the least. The joke around New Orleans, was that Venturi must have had some kind or bad pictures on the owner because that is the only way he could still be around. Check the stats on Venturi as a coach and coordinator. I don't lie. Not even to Ram fans.

Re: haslett hires two assistants
Venturi is a nightmare...
He'd be better off as your LB'er coach which he'll probably be anyway.
Expect a little bit of a boost from your LBers.
You know we always have the Rams # anyway, no matter who your coach is

Re: haslett hires two assistants
Wrong. He was an interim Head Coach for the Colts and the Saints. He was never the Browns' Head Coach. He was, however, Bill Belichick's DC in Cleveland.

Re: haslett hires two assistants
Really? I seem to forget who won the game earlier this season despite an interim HC, a backup QB, and both starting WRs out of the game. Can someone help me out with this?

I see this as a positive. I think the LB's might actually improve. He was, however, Bill Belichick's DC in Cleveland.
I'm getting pretty excited for this season.:clanram:JUST WIN ONE FOR THE FANS
