Haslett to start Bulger for rest of season ...

This just came across the wire. Thank goodness for this, as we need to see what Bulger has left ...

Let's hope the "rest of the season" doesn't conclude with the next bone crushing sack.

    !
Marc Bulger restored to Rams starting QB job
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    09/30/2008

Marc Bulger is the Rams' starting quarterback again in one of Jim Haslett's first moves as their new coach.

Haslett made the announcement before the start of today's practice at Rams Park.

Backup Trent Green started Sunday's 31-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Scott Linehan's final game as coach.

Bulger was back with the starters in practice Tuesday. He is the highest-paid player in franchise history.

Haslett was elevated from defensive coordinator to head coach Monday. He says Bulger will be the starter the rest of the season.

The winless Rams have a bye this week.

I didn't know that. Now I really feel better.

Is there anyone else who thinks part of the motivation here is to make the owner happy?

Re: Haslett to start Bulger for rest of season ...

I don't think so mde, I think the idea behind it is that Bulger is less likely to die when hit, and has been a better quarterback the last few years than Green has been. Green's great in that he knows the playbook like the back of his hand, but he's not a starter anymore.

I think the decision is great, and I hope that the line plays like they actually mean it now that Linny's gone. This offense CAN do great things if they get together and actually play.

    Teke,

I agree with you Bulger is a much better QB than Green. I am just cynical when I see certain things. I am much happier with Bulger at the helm as he gives us much better chance to win.

    Go Rams!

This is just Haslett gaining support from the owner and the rest of the team. Steven Jackson made it seem as if the majority of the team preferred Bulger, which I wouldn't doubt. Haslett needs everyone to buy into his style of head coaching and forget about Linehan.

Re: Haslett to start Bulger for rest of season ...

This is the logical choice like Jax said earlier, Bulger is the teams highest paid player, how can you sit him and let him collect dust. One thing i did catch during the early phase of the Bills game, Green was getting the ball out quicker.

I like how Haslette let the team know early on that Bulger is the starter for the rest of the season. Then he lets the 1st team D go head to head with the 1st team O. If your gonna play with high intensity you should go against the best, with your best. Thats the only way to go!!!

Re: Haslett to start Bulger for rest of season ...

Green had way more time to throw in this game than Bulger did all year and the result was just as bad as when Buler had less time. So Bulger wasnt and isnt the problem and now if the line can continue to at least provide time for him to throw we might actually win some games.

Hopefully Bulger makes the most out of this opportunity and steps up his game. I want to see that confident swagger back!!!!

I thought Trent Green did okay for a 1 game fill in. If anything he showed how to buy sometime in the pocket. Hopefully Marc was watching.

It's time to get this train rolling!!!!!! We're still only 2 games out of thwe NFC West.

    GO RAMS!!!!!
