Re: Healthy Bulger vs Injured Bulger

Bulger was never really healthy, he was injured during the first game of the season. Additionally Bulger had very little playing time in the pre-season to shake off the rust of the offseason where as Frerotte had a little more playing time in the offseason.

I think Bulger was just about ready by the second game (300+ yards and a TD) but then the injuries pretty much ruined it.

I think if the line was healthy it might have made sense but putting an injured Bulger back there with all that pressure isnt right.

Re: Healthy Bulger vs Injured Bulger

No way, In his 1st start of the year how many times did Frerotte actually get smacked by the D? His protection was decent and had more oppurtunities to get rid of the ball with ample amount of time(he still threw 3 picks)rust or no rust. When have we been able to say the same for Bulger? An injured Bulger with that kind of protection woulda won us the game. Didnt Linehan say Bulger had a similar injury last year? I'll stand by our starter.
