    Help Jackson help Jackson

What I would do but hey I'm crazy.

I don't have any facts or stats to back this argument up but it seems to me Jackson is now the second best receiver on the team.

I think we need to start calling a lot more plays to throw to him out in the flat or over the middle. He is dangerous with a little room to move and I'm getting a little tired of seeing him hit his head against a wall trying to run up the middle of a stacked box.

Besides... I think having him as a catching threat play after play would help open the other receivers up a little.

Instead of wearing him out I suggest letting Darby take one of his rushing plays for everyone of his new passing plays.

If this is successful I will be suggesting he play defense as well.

He's proven he can handle that kind of role. I'm unsure myself why we sort of drifted away from that. Frank Gore is showing how effective a back like that can be for a struggling offense.

I loved it a couple years ago when Marc would just dump it of to Jackson when the wide receivers would undoubtedly be covered. Gotta give the beast the ball in space. Of course at this point I almost wish he would have taken the Lions game off to get back to 100, cause he is still not running a hard as he can.

In my opinion it is not about how creative the play is as much as the sequence of the series it's used in.

An OC isn't bad if he calls a run play up the middle. He is bad when he does it in a completely predictable manor. 1st down run, 2nd down run, 3rd down pass and repeat.

A deep ball can be great but if the OC calls for the deep ball every single 2nd down then it becomes predictable and therefore bad in my opinion.

I guess my point is it wasn't necessarily the check downs that made Shurmur look bad last year it was all of the other plays he surrounded it with.

I agree. Jackson has gotten some good yardage receiving passes already this season. We need to see more of that. He was very effective several years back catching the ball. He had like 90 receptions that year. That would be effective for Darby as well. Both of these backs excel in space. Dial it up, Pat!

I agree we need to get Jax more touches but the full time receivers need to step up their game. Being down by two score in the first quarter didnt help either and i think the original game plan to get Jax in the game early was stumped.
