Here's a thought: Cameron for Martz (Sort of)
An interesting thought...
If the Rams were to hire San Diego OC Cam Cameron, that would leave an opening that Mike Martz might want. He could go to San Diego (a place he apparently really would like to be), work under Shottenheimer, and put himself in line for the HC job when Marty either calls it quits or wears out his welcome.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Interesting thought, but Martz has stated he will not take a OC position. I can see him sitting out the season, waiting for Marty to get the ax.

Yea, but that would sure be tempting taking a job in his own backyard. I'm still surprised San Diego St. didn't give him a call.

Re: Here's a thought: Cameron for Martz (Sort of)
no...it doesn't make sense for martz to go to SD to be their OC...
unless schottenheimer is expected to retire soon, martz would have to simultaneously improve the offense and somehow facilitate the decline of the overall team to get al spanos to let schotty go and place martz as new HC...

One intriguing thing would be if Cameron lures some defensive coaches away from SD. That would be a huge plus.:clanram:
