Herm Edwards- a name i havent heard come up

One name i have not seen come up (and maybe i missed it) is Herm Edwards. Has head coaching experience, of course, with some mixed results. Anyone have any thoughts.

Just because a guy has been a head coach before that doesn't necessarily make him a good candidate.

Yeah, umm, I'd rather have Gregg Williams if you're saying that. Sure he's an experienced Spags but I don't think he's going to make the same mistake to being overly conservative like he did when coaching for the Bills. I'm sure Sean Payton's offensive coaching style has rubbed off on him.

True, head coaching experience doesnt make him a great candidate, which is why i was asking. however, head coaching experience for a guy who went to the playoffs in two different years is not to be scoffed at (54 career wins, albeit 74 losses) and in that sense is an apples to oranges comparison to spags, who of course never won anything.

I think this really depends on the road map Stan has for moving forward. At this point in time, the Rams boat has hit an iceberg, and we're trying to bail water with a size 3 sneaker and 2 dixie cups. Herm might be someone to help bail water more effieciently and get us out of trouble. I don't think he'd be a great, long-term solution. It certainly wouldn't hurt to speak with him. I really would prefer a coach with experience running a team (college or pro) rather than just a coordinator.

I would not be too thrilled.

The guy always seems to be a nervous wreck. It makes me nervous just watching and listening to him on ESPN.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Herm Edwards from the Dick Vermeil coaching tree. Things that make you go hmmmmm?
