hodgins back to rams?

the hammer was cut by the cards. Is he an upgrade over paul smith, especially with smith dinged up? Hodgins has been hampered by injury issues for a couple of years so despite his former prowess, he may not be an upgrade, but i am curious as to the views of many on this board.

Unless both Smith and Hedgecock are too dinged up to make a go, I think they should go with Hedge****....or Smith if he ends up being #1 by Sep 10th.

Hodgins has played in only one game the last two seasons. He was on the PUP list again this summer, so I see no reason to think he'd be healthy enough to actually contribute to this team.

Yes, I believe he is an upgrade over Smith ...providing... the Hammer is healthy. However, that seems to be the very reason he was cut by the Cardinals (knee?), so there is obviously a conditional approach to his current value.

Even if Hodgins was reasonably healthy, I would not want him over Hedgecock at this point. Hodgins over Smith ..? Maybe .. I don't know that much about Smith. Hodgins was great back when he played for the Rams, but that was then, and this is now ... time to move on.
