Re: Holt and Bruce get dissed again

This is how I would rank the duos they provide:

IND Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne
STL Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt
ARI Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald
DAL Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn
OAK Randy Moss and Jerry Porter
CAR Keyshawn Johnson and Steve Smith
CIN Chad Johnson and TJ Houshmandzadeh

But obviously mass public results aren't quite accurate, nor should anyone expect them to be.

Re: Holt and Bruce get dissed again

I could see some other tandems being ranked above Holt and Bruce, but to be ranked last with only 6% is a little hard to swallow, meaningless poll or not.

Re: Holt and Bruce get dissed again

As some others have stated in this thread the reason that people do not give our dynamic duo enough credit is because they do it quietly without trash talk.

Another reason is because Holt is expected to put up 1300 yds every season since he is so consistently great.
As for Isaac Bruce, just check my user name!

Add Curtis into the equation and the Rams would get at least 8 pct of the votes.

People dont notice the quiet players thats all their is to it. The Raiders and the Cowboys are the 2 most popular teams in the country of course they get the nod.

P.S Boldin and Fitzgerald have not earned a spot above Bruce and Holt yet.

This really shouldn't worry us Rams fans. The only truly important respect: the kind you earn on the field. These sportswriters are merely trying to create stories from their fanciful imaginations, instead of reporting the facts like they should. Must be a slow news day in their neck o' the woods.LOL

Re: Holt and Bruce get dissed again

All I know is Holt has more yards than any of the so called top recievers over the past 6 years. That's fact. I also believe Bruce has averaged 1000 over the past 6. No other, and I mean no other duo has had this kinda consistent production year in and year out. Not to mention they have cuaght balls from 4 different QBs. Warner, Bulger, Martin, and Fitzgerald. The facts state it so who cares what the public thinks. If you knew your name was Jerry, and someone said no your name is Jon. Would you believe em?

Lets just look at your supposed order.
YOPFY = Yard over past 5 years the tandems that haven't been playing in the league for 5 years I took all the years in the league and averaged them. Also instead of averaging the TDs, I just totaled them, for both players:

IND Marvin Harrison YOPFY 1355 and
    Reggie Wayne YOPFY 832
    Total: 2187 TD's 91
STL Isaac Bruce YOPFY 995 and
    Torry Holt YOPFY 1412
    Total: 2407 TD's 69
ARI Anquan Boldin YOPFY 1137 and
    Larry Fitzgerald YOPFY 1094
    Total: 2231 TD's 34
DAL Terrell Owens YOPFY 1154 and
    Terry Glenn YOPFY 662
    Total: 1786 TD's 75
OAK Randy Moss YOPFY 1196 and
    Jerry Porter YOPFY 642
    Total: 1838 TD's 79
CAR Keyshawn Johnson YOPFY 954 and
    Steve Smith YOPFY 751
    Total: 1705 TD's 43
CIN Chad Johnson YOPFY 1111 and
    TJ Houshmandzadeh YOPFY 530
    Total: 1641 TD's 46

These are the facts, Unchangeble. Production is about Yards and Scoring. Now you can't use all Yards, or all Td's to determine the value of a reciever. Yards actually is more important because, how many TD's were scored as a result of positioning on the Field as a result of the Reciever. So you have to place them together.

Based Upon my findings you're right at 1 and 2, but Moss and Porter should be 3. Also the RB has a lot to do with reciever production, so look for Boldin, and Fitz to move higher in the rankings, in years to come.

His supposed order? No, that's his order based on his opinion. He never said his list was based on stats alone.

Re: Holt and Bruce get dissed again

The only duo I would put in front of 81 & 80 is Fitz and Boldin. Those guys are dangerous, and now they added The Edge...yikes.
