Holt not as healthy as we think??

This is from Fanball.com

Rams: Holt might have a torn ligament

11/11/05 01:43 PM
THE NEWS
Rams wide receiver Torry Holt's knee injury might be more serious than he's been letting on. Team officials described the injury as a bruised knee, but Holt later told reporters that he had a sprained ligament. Now, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that sources confirmed that he has a torn ligament. Nevertheless, he has practiced all week and is still targeting Sunday for his return.
Our View
At this point, it appears Holt will play against the Seahawks. He plans to make an official decision on his playing status on Saturday, so we'll let you know what he decides once that information is released.

Re: Holt not as healthy as we think??

This must not be. I hope this isn't true. Torry Holt can change a game just like that. I mean he can get the ball deep and get it in. If we don't have Torry Holt to open up the running game for Jackson than we can't open up the passing game for Bulger. Because if Holt isn't out there making sure DBs are covering him double coverage. The DBs really don't have that big of assignment. I mean none like Torry Holt. Get well Torry Holt!

Re: Holt not as healthy as we think??

This put the Ram's season on the brink. Holt has to play because if the Rams lose they have to go 6-1 the rest of the year.

Bigger game for the Rams to win than for the Seahawks.

so, if you play him, and he gets reinjured, could be out for the year. but, if you sit him, let him get another week of rest off the knee, you may have him back at 100% for the rest of the season, but take away one of your weapons for this week. man, tough decision.

Re: Holt not as healthy as we think??

This is why i wanted to rest him in the colts game, but i concede that there is no evidence at this point that he injured it any worse by playing in that game, i have only my suspicions.

Perhaps he does have a torn ligament, but the report is far from clear:

Scar tissue develops when torn ligaments are healing.
While I'm not a doctor, I can tell you one error in this part of the article. Scar tissue does not necessarily mean that he tore a ligament. It could also be the result of a torn meniscus, which is a less severe injury. I know this because I had my knee scoped due, in part, to scar tissue resulting from a torn meniscus.

Sounds not so severe anymore. Hope Holt has a "BiG GamE" Day! If not the reverend shall be in the house. But I do concur if he is not well better for him to sit this one out.

What's the story with Bruce? Your radio play-by-play was on Seattle sports radio and said that Bruce won't start but there's a chance he'll play.

How has he recovered from his turf-toe?

We don't "NEED" them but it would be nice to "HAVE" them. I mean we beat Jacksonville with Curtis, McDonald, and Jamie Martin. So yea I agree those it would be nice to "HAVE" them.

Right on man. It would be nice to have them, but we have enough depth to cover.

Yes we have depth to cover them but I really don't want to see Jamie Martin go out there and throw 3 interceptions again anytime soon
