Re: Holt out of Pro Bowl

He needs to get it scoped and cleaned out. Probably should have done it last offseason.

I'll have to sorta agree, he was on fire in the beginning of the season (so much I declared him the best WR in the NFL a few weeks into the season) but he really trailed off at the end. Probably the injury is mostly responsible, but all the uncharacteristic drops sure didn't help.

Re: Holt out of Pro Bowl

He dropped some long balls but he still had a great year. A bad year for Tori is a Pro-Bowl year for every one else:
10 TDs
1100 yds
93 Receptions

Pretty damn good.

Really????? You make it sound like he led the league in dropped passes, when in reality he only had 7 dropped passes. There are plenty of WRs who had more dropped passes than him including Owens who had 17 drops, Darrell Jackson, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Reggie Brown, Chris Chambers, Donald Driver, Braylon Edwards, Joey Galloway, Devery Henderson, Randy Moss, & Reggie Wayne, oh and Marvin Harrison is tied with Holt both having 7 drops. So yes it was a little unusual that Holt dropped some passes, but it's not as bad, or as high a number as RF16 would lead you to believe after you look at the numbers.

Do you know how many passes he actually dropped this season, or are you just assuming it was a lot?

Here is the number - seven. Torry Holt dropped seven passes this year. TO (17), Steve Smith (10), Randy Moss (8), Darrell Jackson (11), Chris Chambers (8), Donald Driver (8), and Reggie Wayne (8) have all dropped more. Marvin Harrison dropped as many as Holt did.

Furthermore, Torry Holt was the most targeted receiver in the entire NFL this season with 179 passes thrown his way. To say he's dropped "so many passes its not funny" because he let seven out of 179 passes slip through his fingers strikes me as a bit of an exaggeration.

On top of that, to say he didn't deserve to go to the Pro Bowl because of that... I just couldn't disagree with it any more. I see absolutely no reason why seven drops negates being 2nd in the NFC in receptions, 2nd in touchdowns, 4th in yards, and 5th in yards per game. Perhaps you could explain why that's the case.

Holt deserved to play in the pro-bowl for that single wonder play versus seattle alone,7 dropped catches and he dont deserve a place in the pro-bowl?? LMAO

Re: Holt out of Pro Bowl

I have a question? If he was thrown to 179 times dropped seven and had 93 receptions what happened to the other 79 passes? I am not a supporter of the the " He sucked the last 5 weeks" crap either just curious how that stat works. Were all those passes overthrown, tipped?

Yeah, you got it. Overthrown, underthrown, tipped by DB, tipped at the line, intercepted, out of reach, etc etc.

Re: Holt out of Pro Bowl

Torry has set such extraordinary standards for himself that if he drops any pass ppl start making an issue of it.But you can easily flip the coin and look that the amount of catches he has made on far from perfect passes or just damn rite circus catches..He is a proven Pro-Bowler and this is good news for the Rams, as the surgery should eradicate the problem and have him back in time for training camp..Here's looking forward to Torry being back 100% healthy and ready to have another Pro-Bowl year in '07 to lead our Rams back to the play-offs..:l
