He will be here for at least another 2 years. I don't blame him at all for not holding loyalty to a club that can't return the same feelings... the ways the Rams use players is dispicable, Dropping Bruce, Hedgecock, the way the parted with Faulk, to name a few. It is easy to see why our franchise is in the state its in, I wouldn't want to play there if I know the team could care less about me, I'm sure players notice this and take it into account when comparing contract offers.

the way the parted with Faulk,
Faulk was paid while he was on TV.

I agree with you to a point but remember there is no real loyality in sports anymore by the teams or the players,I don't know what you do for a living but it pretty much is the same in the regular world also,if your level of work starts to drop off or maybe your salary gets to be more than they want to pay they will replace you just like that regardless of how much time you have put in with them and on the other side if you get a better offer you can leave them, I guess my long winded point is it works both ways.

I was so gutted when we lost Hedgecock. Why?
Its not like he was expensive or old.

Holt is gone, I don't blame him. The front office on this team is nothing but a joke. Linehan can't coach kids out a paper bag. The Rams had a chance to fix this sinking ship, and they chose to go down with the ship. It's gonna be a while before we get back into any type of contention.

Looks like we should draft a WR in round 2 and 3 this year...

Re: The Holt speculation is real

The day and age of loyalty from any franchise is long gone. Rice,Montana,Marcus Allen,Isaac Bruce etc there is no loyalty. We didnt mistreat Faulk in any way what so ever. He was getting paid while doing sports shows. Look if Holt want to go to Carolina and the Panthers are willing to compensate us with their 1st round pick I'm willing to part with him. He's only going to be here about two more years anyway. His body doesnt seem to be like Ike's. He seems to be breaking down a bit earlier than Bruce did. I dont think he will play untill he is 37 years old. So if Holt wants to go there so bad and the Panthers want him I wouldnt die if we traded him.

Re: The Holt speculation is real

I do not like it when a franchise like the Rams lets a player like Ike Bruce go, but I also have to call out a player when they do the crap Holt is doing apparently, when they are under contract. I love Holt, but Torry is replaceable. He is not a tough receiver over the middle and does not possess blazing speed. He is a technician of a route runner and has flourished in a pass happy offense. It surprises me to see a guy like Holt take the way of a Chad Johnson. Shut up and play. You chose this carreer and this is the way of the NFL. I originally thought to say honor your contract, but he did say he would play out the remaining two years and then go from there. I just do not like it when a player pulls this crap, in essence, to jab at his team. If we can trade him for a 1st rounder and at least a 3rd, I say do it.

when he says "play out my last 2 years and go from there", he is really sayin "play out my last 2 years and get the hell out"
and he is not at a chad johnson complaining level...yet

No player is bigger than the club they represent...... And that is including ALL sports, and all great players of said sports past and present.

    So what!!

    Nothing but talk.

A lot can change over the course of 2 seasons. He could be injured and never play again.

Maybe neither team will want to sign a WR, in two seasons, who will be 34, with a bum knee, and is only able to run sideline routes.

I guarantee you that all it will take for Holt to forget this notion is a few wins and some productive offensive playcalling by Al Saunders.

    I still say this is a non-story.

Seems to be a goofy bit with a few quotes probably taken out of context.

I agree, once he sees Avery take the SS deep and out of harms way for him to run a deep dig route, all will be forgiven.
