Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

Will Holt's 1300 Yards Recieving Streak finally come to an end?

He has 1 last chance to continue it against the Vikings, the league's worst pass defense. Right now he has 1098 recieving yards, he only needs 202 recieving yards more.

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

Possibly. Only coaching staff or the offensive play call will know. Don't count on it but maybe someone might want it to happen since he is a a likeable guy. In this game Rams want a win at all cost, even going to the ground and pounding via SJ.

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

The VIkings pass defense is horrible and just got worse with the loss of two starters so anything can happen.....202 yards is alot, but in this particular game against this particular D, I guess his odds are better than they'd normally be.

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

The chances are doubtful. I hate to see that streak end.

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

I think the streak will continue, it will just be changed to 1250 instead of 1300. Which is O.K. because 1250 is the sexier number.

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

It will end, but he shouldn't be disappointed because he had plenty of chances this year but dropped alot, so its his fault because Marc delivered the ball his way.

That's right, if he would have caught some of those drops he would have probably reached 1300. His chances are better against the Vikings than perhaps any other team though. You can't run the ball on them, and their pass defense is horrible, so he has a puncher's chance.

Needs only 202 ?:x

That would be a huge game. No better time than now though.

a nice 85 yard TD catch on the first play of the game would be good

Revelstoke - is moving towards the light
Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

If we win, and get in and hes got one catch for 15 yards i'm sure he'd be just as happy.

Alot of people dont think an 8-8 team has much of a shot, but its a one game playoff, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN in one game.

It would be nice to a 65 - 75 yarder cause that would mean we had a decent return for a change!

Re: Holt's Streak (Will it end?)

Can't see him getting 202 yards, but I would be surprised if he doesn't make over 100..I'm sure he would prefer to make the play-offs rather than have another 1300 yard season..:l

Heck, if he only would have caught the 85 yarder against Arizona he would be that much closer now. Anyway it's been a great streak by Torry; but, like most things, it had to come to an end.

WHAT SAY YE?

good point, he did have his chance and it seemed as though he had more drops this season, but he's still a pro bowler,so record or not he has had a good season.

Dropped a lot? That's a bit of an exaggeration. He's dropped six passes this season. TO, Steve Smith, Randy Moss, Darrell Jackson, Chris Chambers, Donald Driver, Marvin Harrison, and Reggie Wayne have all dropped more. Of the other nine receivers listed with Holt in the top ten this year in receiving yards, only four of them have dropped fewer passes. Those four include Anquan Boldin and Chad Johnson, who have both dropped five, one less than Holt.

If you think dropping six passes is a lot, then there are a lot of top notch receivers that seem to have the dropsies this year. Perhaps it's simply seemed like a lot because dropped footballs are uncharacteristic of Holt in general. But six drops is no where near a lot; TO's 17 drops is a lot. Holt's six puts him in the same range as other elite receivers like Johnson, Harrison, and Wayne. Nothing to be ashamed of.
