    Quoting the Post Dispatch:

Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui has a “significant” high ankle sprain and his return date is undetermined. High ankle sprains can linger, meaning Hoomanawanui could miss significant time.

Sometimes a high ankle sprain can be worse than a broken bone, but then again sometimes it will only keep a guy out for a few weeks. I don't like seeing it was "significant."
We could be looking at 3 weeks or more at best. My junior year in high school I had a friend who had a high ankle sprain and knocked him out for the whole year (had about 6 or 7 games left). He was on crutches for a while too. His was a very bad sprain though, hopefully Hoomanawanui isn't that bad off.

I know Amendola limped off late in the game but came back in. Laurent Robinson also was down in the last minute of the game, clutching his knee after Steven Jackson rolled up on it following a run. I've heard nothing more about this one- this had me worried when I saw it.

I remember Adrian Peterson missing significant pt at OU due to a high ankle sprain (4 or 5 games)....and as you can see from his NFL career, it doesn't translate to "injury prone".
