    How about that Front Office?

Despite the limited free agency market, the Rams Front Office has had a fairly active offseason. To review, here is a list of the key transactions (projected starters in bold):

    Free Agents Retained
    Adeyanju, Victor
    Atogwe, O.J.
    Fells, Daniel
    Hall, James
    Ryan, Clifton

    Free Agents Signed
    Diggs, Na'il
    Dockery, Kevin
    Feeley, A.J.
    Fraley, Hank
    Hovan, Chris
    Robbins, Fred

    Acquired by Trade
    Carpenter, Bobby
    Payne, Kevin

That's a total of 13 roster spots and 7 starters (not even counting Feeley, who may be the opening day starter at QB).

Its also noteworthy that the Rams retained Fells despite competition for his services from other teams including the Patriots, and retained Atogwe without having to risk paying him the franchise tag amount.

None of these moves is earth-shattering but, if you think about it, there have been very few big moves (FA signings, trades) this offseason throughout the league.

If I'm Stan Kroenke, I would be very comfortable with the current Front Office once I become the majority owner.

Been saying for the longest to please give the guys a chance. What have they done to warrant your distrust? I'll support a guy until they give me a reason not to. So far they have done nothing that gives me a reason not to.

Ever since they put Billy in charge and hired Spags, it seems like the groundwork was being laid. I was not too impressed with the big money free agents that were available. I think the FO was very smart this offeseason by not spending for the sake of spending. I'm very happy with the direction we're going. Hey, even two wins is improvement, right?

I agree with your list of projected starters but one other possiblility is Hank Fraley at OG. He wouldn't be my first choice as I have a candle in the window for Johnny Greco, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if Mr. Fraley isn't in the starting lineup come September.

I'd prefer both Fraley and Goldberg as versatile backups, and I think they are more valuable in that role. My preference would be for big Greco to step his game up and claim that start RG spot.

My preferred line on day 1 is Smith, Bell, Brown, Greco, Saffold from left to right. Yet if they can't claim those respective spot then they don't deserve that position and give it to whoever does. Let the best man win.

The decisions this FO is making sure seem solid. I've almost completely forgot about Shawgmunt.

You forgot (or I've missed seeing) Chris Hovan.

I think it's been a very reasonable offseason considering the constraints they were under.

You're right, I did miss Hovan.

I would add another key transaction, the trade for Isaac Bruce. It won't make a difference on the field of play, but it was still an important move, and a very classy thing to do.

I love what they are doing right now. There not spending a lot of money which I love. Everyone they have picked up so far will contribute to this team and bring something positive. Whether they are starters or not.

It would seem the painstaking work is coming along nicely. This was a FO and organization in complete spiral and it will take time. I really expect to see the fruits of this labor translate into a few more victories this year and close games that we perhaps lose but in 1-2 years will translate to more victories and playoff contenders by 2011/2012.

Completely agree. This is really just year two of the rebuilding process. Being a minority owner already, I'm hoping Kroenke has been familiar enough with the inner workings of the franchise and FO that he won't have the impulse to overhaul everything right off the bat.

There could be another one, although I doubt it, Brian Westbrook. I seriously don't want to overpay a concussion-risk type of player. From what I heard today he's in demand by more teams than just us the Bronco's and the Redskins. He could be a plus, but as I said, don't overpay this guy, he's a high risk/reward at best.

    Go Rams!
