How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
Engaged by a blocker, he bull rushed and pushed the lineman into Brees, knocking both players to the ground for the sack. An absolutely amazing effort.
Long has a great motor along with great determination, and it showed today with the sack and his overall play. He'll continue to improve and is destined for greatness IMO.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
What makes me mad is I had to go to the bathroom when it happened. I am frustrated, and still looking for the footage somewhere! haha
Everytime I am away from the TV, something good happens. I think I'll just sit in the garage next week.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
yes that was a great sack. another great play when one of the fastest guys is the game in reggie bush when he had that 55 yard rush chris long was down there almost making the tackle. although he may not be the best pass rusher his effort is second to none. now we just need someone to help him on the d line.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
You think YOU'RE mad? I was out on my front steps thinking it was still halftime when Roby returned the 2nd half kickoff for the TD!
Ya'll gave us a great game guys, really. I was in the beer line at the Superdome a couple of weeks ago, when Devrey Henderson caught a 63-yard completion against the Panthers, after we'd been sputtering all through the first half -- I was tempted for a moment to stay there by the beer booth all day! We've all been there!

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
Haha, I love it when I can actually pick up on Internet sarcasm.
It was a nice sack and showed great strength/leverage by Chris Long. He was pushing that tackle around all day and had gotten close a few more times.
Chris Long might not ever put up huge sack numbers, but he's undoubtedly a great "football player," as Madden would say. He goes all out every play, rarely out of position and is very versatile.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
People think he is a bust because he doesn't get the sack numbers... Supposedly sack numbers make you a good def linemen.... Anyways that was very nice on his part, the off linemen wasn't stopping him that play, the bull rush was amazing.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
He could have had another sack, but Brees shoveled it away at the last second as Long was pulling him down.
Our 2 best games S-Jax gets a TD and Long gets a Sack. If those guys keep that streak going we can expect to win some more games

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
Chris looks noticably bigger this year, and consequently stronger. He has manhandled tackles numerous types this year, only to come up inches short of a sack. When he gets just a tiny bit quicker, he'll be a hell raiser ....

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
I'll stick to my prediction and say he has 8 sacks by the end of the season.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
It's definitely intriguing to see Chris follow up with another sack this week. Hopefully this parlays into even more success in the final half of the season. His confidence should definitely be up and it showed after finally notching that first sack in Detroit - now we just need him to continue to play like this and those "bust" talks will disappear quickly.

Re: How Incredible Was Chris Long's Sack?
That was a strong move he made, one of the best ones I've seen this year. As far as him being a bust as some would like to believe, Chris relies on speed to get his sacks, that may have worked in college but most NFL tackles know how to cut down the angles so you don't blow by them. When you consider that Chris most likely gives up 60 lbs to the guy he's going against, he's not going to bull rush an offensive tackle on every play. So that leaves technique, and that's not something you learn overnight in the NFL. As he gains experience and size over the next couple of years this guy will be a force in this league that will make QB's cry in their sleep.
