How long will it take?

I'm not trying to get anyone down, but I'm just wondering what you guys have to say...

How long will it take to get the Rams back on track to an elite playoff team?

I say 3-5 years.

Re: How long will it take?

It can't take more then 2-3 years. If it's going to happen. Players come and go within 3 years, its hard to keep a team together for a long period.

Re: How long will it take?

Good and important question! :\

1-2 Years. Much work to be done -- obviously -- on the Trilogy aspects of our troops: offense, defense and ST.

I think the necessary adjustments can be made, both major and minor, and we will be able to exploit whatever amount of talent we will still have by next year to once again become truly competitive.

Regardless of the few and far in between glimmers of success in last night's loss to the Bears, it was a sad thing to witness.

Re: How long will it take?

Tough to tell. The Rams went from 4-12 to SB champs in one year. And this current team is not nearly as bad as the 1998 Rams were, IMO.

I voted 1-2. I don't think we're that far away from being a playoff team.

Re: How long will it take?

Not an easy question to answer with any certainty but I would say another two seasons from now would be a fair guess. It'll take longer if we fire the coaching staff every season we don't make it.

Re: How long will it take?

Taking the history of our franchise into account... 10+ years IMO to become a serious contender. I hope I am wrong.

To win the Superbowl .... How long since our inception did it take for us to win a SB... 60years... maybe another 60 before we win another???

Sticky question. 1 more year to be a winning team, return playoffs, and take our division. 2-3 years for SB caliber team.

True, but it will be much harder to sneak up on anyone anytime soon I would think.

The Caints, on the other hand are reminding me of a team from say what.. 7 years ago?

Mostly depends on if the HC can instill a belief in his players that his system can work, if whomever holds the pursestrings will spring for impact players, if we can get players who WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL!

In this age of free agency, what have you done for me lately mentalities, and salary caps "windows of opportunity" can be short indeed.

Re: How long will it take?

In this age of parity, a lot of things can change with just 1 offseason. If we draft well, spend wisely in free agency, keep the injury vultures from circling next season, and we could be a playoff team next year.

Of course, IF my aunt had a.......
