Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
I don't think we're that far away if we get a lot of the injured players back, but I have no confidence in this regime to do anything with them anyway.

Too many to count at this point. Who knows what draft picks will actually wind up helping us or killing us, i.e. Barron (imo) with killing us.

I think we are 1-2, we can't miss with Chris Long, he is solid, we are not taking too much of a chance with him.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
I think a healthy team along with a couple of key players and we'll be able to compete. The west was pretty weak this year and if we were healthy we probably could have made a run at it this year.

DE, SS, Burner, guard. Id say 3-4 but even if we get those and were not healthy nothing matters.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
It all depends on many factors...Will Glover be able to rotate in and still do well like he did this year, is Chavous a goner? How many players do we need with the o-line? We not only need premier starters but adequate backups too. It CAN become a long list, not that I think that it will, but it can. That is all I am saying.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
I said 3-4.
Looking at our progression this year, its clearly obvious where we need players.
One DL, one OL and one Safety. We get that with our injured players at full halth, we're in for a good season, maybe even #1 in the west.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
Ryan will get more time he was a beast early, might have worn down, but he was a hugh for us.Let AC and Ryan split time at NT. The Rams FO got that one right, less was more for Glover. Glover might be gone hope not. Will Glover be able to rotate in and still do well like he did this year,
Agree thats one.Chavous a goner?
I say one Alan Faneca or his equal. Thats two.How many players do we need with the o-line?
Add a young fast WR in the second, thats three.
FG kicker? It CAN become a long list, not that I think that it will, but it can. That is all I am saying.

We're not healthy, nothing matters.
Totally agree. Injuries will not be our destruction in 08. On the contrary, I think we will be a much different team in terms of having a 'normal' and healthy squad on both sides of the ball. I thus voted 3-4 players to make the rest of the difference and give it a go at the West.

Maybe like 80, wait, isn't it a 52 man roster?

My Heart says just get healthy, but my head says 3 or 4 good ones wouldn't hurt.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
Well, the Seahawks keep going far enough into the year to make their draft picks worse and worse...they're only going to keep getting older.
I think we shore up the o-line, get a little younger on the defensive side(Chavous, Glover?), and put together a solid draft and we'll be in a good position to make a move.
Remember, we're in the NFC, and the West in that. We won't need 11+ wins to make the playoffs.

Re: How many players do we need to make a run at the west?
I honestly thought that a healthy 07 team would have made a run at the NFC West Title so I went with none. In reality every NFL team needs improvement somewhere even the dreaded Patriots.
