How would you feel if Spags was retained?

While Spags and Co are no-doubt on the hot couch, at this point, how would you feel if he was retained? Im interested in responses seeing that this is the hot debate as of now.

I went with IDC either way. I like some moves he has made here, but he also has big head coaching deficiencies that need to be dealt with if he stays.

If Kroenke goes another way, I'm fine with it.

hot couch? first time I have heard this term.

To be honest, I have not voted as you poll options dont make sence in regards to the poll question. No offence meant. (much like the Rams these days)

I voted "fine with it" although I don't necessarily subscribe to the commentary after that. I can understand people wanting heads to roll, and maybe he's not the best option for the Rams. But I still believe in Spags, maybe I'm just a fool.

It was a tough choice between all but the last option. I am not "fine" with him staying, but I do understand that not many coaches could do a whole lot with all the injuries. I do "care", but will back him if Kroenke still has faith in his abilities. In his current mindset, he does need to be fired at seasons' end (maybe even upon arrival from the Dome last Sunday), but he may still be shown the light.

If he does get one more year, I would more like to see him on a very short leash, with an ultimatum similar to what DV was given after 1998. And then bring in someone that can take the reins if Spags is let go mid season (Head of Football Operations???).

I like what Spags has done so far, but I do not like his calls from the sidelines. He needs someone on the sidelines that can veto his "play not to lose" decisions.

Re: How would you feel if Spags was retained?

There is only one reason that spags would stay another year and that would be money and that is not an acceptable reason for me from the perspective of ownership. Spags has one year to go on his contract i believe. Even if i am wrong about that, put it this way, if his contract was up now, would you want to resign him or give him an extension? The record speaks for itself as does the game day strategy. I think he was an outstanding defensive coordinator who has failed as a head coach. Sure we have had many injuries this year, and that explains why if we finished around .500 i would be inclined to give him another year. However, there is no excuse for being as bad as we are, especially since he picked many of the players involved.

Bring back Mad Mike (if we can't get fisher)

Jeff Fisher would the perfect fit for the Rams. Spags needs to go,plain and simple.

IDK but devanny needs to go. And mickeyD needs to hire his own assistants that know his offense.

I would rather him get one more year with as others have said, a short leash.

    10-33.

Keeping Spags will demoralize the remaining fans there are and send the message that losing is OK. The man has accomplished absolutely nothing in his three year tenure in STL, no sense in keeping him around.

the highly touted and much anticipated 4 PILLARS have crumbled- that's all I have to say on this matter.

I would be fine with it... BUT he would have to win the WEST next year to get another deal. I'm not sure if he's a good enough coach to do that.

Re: How would you feel if Spags was retained?

I think I want to keep him for another year. I doubt a high priced, big name head-coach will come here and keep Josh McDaniels....

I don't want Sam to start over again.....each day of this season makes we realize how horrible our personnel is compared to the rest of the league.

Im getting a sinking feeling just thinking about it. Im almost at a loss, wondering how the Rams can sort this mess out. So Im surprised Spags is still getting a bit of support here.?
