How's bout some positives?

"O ye of little faith."

I'm very encouraged by this season. A weak team in a significant coaching transition managed an 8-8 record! I think that's very good. I expected worse.

Along the way, we've had a couple of nice surprizes..
1) Jackson walked the walked and earned our respect.
2) Bulger again proved he is elite.
3) The young O Linemen proved that they have the talent to develop into a stud line.
4) Bruce showed he is still one of the greats.
5) Coach L in his first season did better than coach M in his last.
6) We blew out the Vikings in the last game.

What else? Some of you guys know better than me. I'd like to hear some details from some of the more knowledgeable guys about how the new DBs and LB played. Was Witherspoon as good as hoped? Did that little corner show any real talent?

I'm tellin ya, I feel very good and positive about next year. And I may be this board's senior pessimist. I feel no sense of loss, or "woulda, shoulda, coulda". I feel more excited for next season than I did for this season.

Re: How's bout some positives?

I could give positives about this past season for hours, and negatives almost as long.

What I will say is that we have shown that we are no longer on the way down. Rather, we have a solid foundation to build upon, and have laid the first bricks in the rebuilding.

The squawks better be watching their backsides. Three teams are on their tails, led by the Rams...

Re: How's bout some positives?

Alex Barron only had one false start today. Now, that is a positive!

I didn't get to see the game, but I'm glad the Rams won. Going into next year, we have some great things we can look forward to.

Only one false start?! At least we know the season wasn't a complete waste. I'm so proud of him...

Re: How's bout some positives?

Bartell had two picks today. He really has stepped up when given the chance and has made some big plays the last few games. I think we'll be seeing alot more of him next season.

Re: How's bout some positives?

I dont think the Oline gave up a sack! The rams didnt turn the ball over, and the Run Defense held the Vikings to less than 100 yards rushing. And Jackson went over 1500 Rushing yards!

Re: How's bout some positives?

I think that I called for an 8-8 season as my preseason prediction, so I am not reasonably frustrated or disappointed in anything. I agree that the future of our o-line is very promising. On offense we stand with or above anyone. On defense we got glimpses of what could be an excellent secondary. Oh, and BTW, our special teams was vastly improved over year's past. I think that this last point is often overlooked...

Well said, CB. Same here. // The Rams running game has evidently made its mark once again, that is, for the better part of the last two thirds of the season. Action Jackson has arrived.

Steven Jax will be one powerful weapon being that our passing game is also still quite effective, having Bulger and elite WRs...

Ergo, TWO CONSTANT POSITIVES. Just a matter of fine tuning the arsenal. :r

And, positively, we NEED TO IMPROVE OUR D!
