    Hue Jackson OC interview

    "
Hue Jackson will interview Wednesday with Jeff Fisher for
    #Rams
    offensive coordinator job, per sources.
    #ESPN#NFL32 "

    - Chris Mortensen

Now this is excellent news!!! This guy is a QB guru. He also has had success with many offenses and would instantly turn Bradford into a pro bowler.

I would LOVE this hire. Please get this done Stan!

This right here would be a good hire. He supports the run and has done will with receivers and QB's before. Flacco was putting up decent numbers with him as a rookie and improving during his second year, he declined under his new OC however. The raiders were also rolling this year until McFadden went down, he had Campbell playing well too until he went down.

Nope. Hue Jackson for OC!!! This guy knows how to run an NFL offense. He was the reason Chad and Housh were prolific. He was the reason Stephon Davis was a beast. This guy is known as a QB guru and I'd LOVE to have Bradford develop under him.

This is an interesting, and welcome development. I'd take Jackson over Schottenheimer every day of the week and twice on Sunday!

    HC- Jeff Fisher
    OC- Hue Jackson
    DC- Greg Williams

I know our expectations were dashed this year and it might be hard for some to have high ones for next season after what happened, but I think it would suprise the majority if this coaching staff fails.

I dont see Jackson sticking around for long though.

I think his firing was questionable as I thought he was a pretty solid coach.

Yes, please! I would like this move a lot better versus the other one option that is rumored.

My concern with Jackson would be that he would be another one and done coach, we don't need three in a row

    Re: Hue Jackson OC interview

Jackson arguably just blew his one shot in Oakland by making a questionable move trading two premium picks for Carson Palmer. Meanwhile, despite his perceived lack of success lately Schottenheimer has still gotten plenty of interest as a head coach. Jackson would be far more likely to bring stability and consistency to the OC position if he were to have success.

That being said, let's hope that Brian Schottenheimer decides to join Nick Saban as his OC at Alabama and we get Hue Jackson as a result! Would be a terrific hire. He may have had some faults as a head coach, but he rejuvenated that offense in Oakland and has experience in all facets of the game.

By the way, first Michael Lombardi says Fisher is expected to join the Dolphins and then says Schottenheimer is a done deal pending a contract. Considering he probably knows nothing and had a 50/50 chance on either happening, this would be hysterical.

Well put Rambunctious, but this reminds me of Hue's post game speech after their victory the week Al passed. The guy's a players coach . He could get thick offense moving while Fisher keeps the team disciplined.

I'd be ecstatic if we got Hue instead of Schotty.

    Re: Hue Jackson OC interview

I'm lukewarm at best with the mention of both Hue Jackson and Brian Schottenheimer.

Hue seems like a bit of a loose cannon. Shortly after his firing, I heard he was difficult to deal with on a lot of levels. I gather that Hue enjoyed direct access to Al Davis when he was alive and when Al passed, he was not afforded carte blanche to do as he wished. This obviously carried over to the field, where it was obvious Oakland's players didn't respond to Jackson as evidenced by their season ending turd vs. San Diego. His decision to get Carson Palmer for two top picks backfired and Oakland folded the 2nd half of the season, as Palmer sucked on a number of occasions. And then of course was his season ending tirade.

Schottenheimer was part of a stagnant Jets offense this season. I'm sure he was not as bad as advertised, (disgruntled fans who bought into Rex Ryan's B.S. made Scottenheimer a scapegoat for all things wrong) but he DID contribute to the 2nd guessing with stupid game planning- like having Sanchez throw 59 times in a close game against the Giants in week 16.

I will trust Fisher will make the right call for an OC, but forgive me if I don't jump for joy at either of these two guys.
