I can't believe Martz called that fake FG!!!!!!
Oh, wait...
Mike Martz isn't coaching today.
Can you imagine if he had called that play, though? It would be the subject of national scorn and ridicule.
Let's hope it doesn't end up being the difference in the game.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

What wasn't there was a "will to win". If Manuamaeleauna REALIZES he's in the redzone, where he is, he DOESN'T drop that ball. A play like that, 15 years ago, gets put on every highlight reel and he gets booed at home the next week. Hopefully that will happen. That fat idiot should get a decrease in pay. I wish Conwell was back.
Sorry Avenger.

Some of us are more in tune with the team. Can you imagine if he had called that play, though? It would be the subject of national scorn and ridicule.
You did not have the slightest inkling this week.

Re: I can't believe Martz called that fake FG!!!!!!
It's all merely specualtion now. Sure he would have got ripped but he should have if he would have called that play. Most people will give a flyer to Vitt because in actuality, what does Vitt have to lose?
Martz is gone, and as a staunch fan of Martz it's hard for me to say that but I can face reality.

Re: I can't believe Martz called that fake FG!!!!!!
You get ripped when it fails and next to nothing negative is said when it works.
Three things I pointed to before the game:
1) Timing
2) Field position
3) Play design
The Timing was wrong. Call for the fake before trying to get them to jump offsides.
Play design was not great at all. Possibly bring in a tackle eligible. Throw the ball down the field or into the endzone. They only needed 3 yards for the first down.

Re: I can't believe Martz called that fake FG!!!!!!
That was pretty much a bad play call. I mean, c'mon why did Wilkins end up with the ball anyway?
Oh well.....put that play in the same place that the Rams should have put the pitch reverse.

Re: I can't believe Martz called that fake FG!!!!!!
Its simple. You kick the FG and go up 6-0. End of story. A fake was a bad idea. The fact that they called AFTER trying to draw the Hawks offsides (showing that they were up to something) and called a play requiring Wilkins to throw just compounded the bad call.

Yeah, I guess you are right. Every coach that has ever gambled with a trick play is an idiot.
