I did a little research, and found that Avenger has attempted to abandon ship once before, back on December 19, 2004, after the Rams lost to 'Zona.

As I recall, we, as a Clan, agreed that a change was needed at HC.

Avenger, before I call for a congressional investigation into this matter, would you please answer two questions:

Last winter, rumors about Art Shell being our new HC were flying. If forced with a decision between Linehan and Shell, which would you pick?

This team will not catapult itself into contention by changing the HC. There are too many things to question across the board.

Confidence is low right now and rightly so, it's a skid we've embarked on.

Linehan was lauded for his offensive control after the first six games, lets assume that this one game was an aberration.

You have to give him more than ten games before jerking the knee after getting shut out on the road.

Linehan is completely negating any offensive talent we have with ridiculous play calling. Holt/Bruce are not possession recievers, quick hits are not going to get us yards.

Why is he substituting quick slants for a running game? I know you want to give him time, but this is common sense stuff here.

Also, I want to add that I am worried about Linehan tearing into the core of this team in an effort to transition it into "his" offense. I'm not sure how likely it is, but he is so stubborn in his playcalling he might just make some big name trades to get players that fit "his" offense instead of changing his offense to fit our players.

In the middle of 1998, I was as disgusted with Dick Vermeil as anybody. I did say that he had to be given one more year. Yes, changes had to be made, and pressure from the outside was brought to bear. Nonetheless, if as seasoned a coach as Vermeil needed three eyars to get the team built, Linehan should be given up to three.

P.S. I was a Martz backer for the first three years despite not liking his style as a head coach, and being sure we underperformed badly in 2000.

I have no problem with Linehan drafting Klop. The Byrd pick is questionable. But to call Manumaleuna a "proven TE" has to be the most liberal use of the word proven I've ever seen.

Linehan has done nothing this year that indicates to me that he's Head Coach material. Remember, he's never been a HC before, so he has no track record.

This is a very fair point. It's not like we can look back at Miami and Minnesota to get a completely accurate view of his past because he was just a coordinator in both places.

This is his first outing as a head coach, and early indications are not positive. Can he turn it around? We'll never know if we kick him to the curb after 10 games.
