I just wanted to clear some things up about my reporting on the Saunders issue.

Hey,

Some of you might recall that on January 15, 2008, when asked about the possibility of the Rams going after Al Saunders after Joe Gibbs retired, I posted this on my Pressbox:

Now, a couple of weeks later, when it turns out that the Rams were after Saunders and, in fact, hired him, you might wonder if I feel silly for making such a bold pronouncement that turned out to be entirely wrong.

The answer: no.

You see, everything I say is a guess. Just because I act like I know what is going to happen, or claim to have inside information, does not mean that I actually do. I just make bold statements and, if I guess right, I brag about it. When I'm wrong... oh well. I can always come up with some excuse.

By the way... did I mention that I broke the story on Linehan because he called my radio show? I'm so special!

Why would the Seahawks trade Lofa Tatupu to the Rams? That's just silly. Of course, if it does happen, I knew it would.

I was actually referring to Laurence Tynes. Jeff Wilkins had a bad year and we need to do something.

There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that the Rams won't not be considering the possibilty of signing or not signing Marcus Trufant in the event that he does, or does not hit the free agent market this, or some other year.

Honestly, I do believe the Rams signed Saunders because.....he may have been the best one left on the market.
