i know some of you are concerned but.....

ok on Offense, we had no Drew Bennet, which with him, those 2 FG's could have been TD's, jackson only had 2 touches in the perseason, so im not suprised he fumbled 2 times, he hasent taken many hits since last season. Im pretty confident that he will toughen up over the next few games and fumble ALOT less. we have to...HAVE TO get Randy McMichael integrated into this offense more. he could really help us alot. Bulger started out slow last year too, so give it time, the sky isnt fallings, we will be fine, i still think that we willl get 9-10 wins this season, Pace should be okay, and hopefully he will be bask soon, the people on tv says it was somethin on his shoulder so hopefully hes okay. so for those of you freaking out, take a deep breath, relax, there is still 15 weeks of football to be played. Dont worry last year w started out slow too. the first half defense looked pretty good, hopefully they will tighten things up, it seems like they just gave up the 2nd half, so lets hope they can tighten up

It's not as much concerned as I am just really ticked off at how horrible the team looked, and what looked like a lack of effort.

Man i sure hope your right. This game left me w/ one feeling...DISGUST!
Way to many short passes. The franchise player lays it on the ground twice.
Bulger was way off on most throws. Does Linehan have the right players for
the type of offense he wants to run? i for one am starting to wonder.

TBH I'm not looking forward to next week after watching that garbage today. Doesn't exactly get you pumped up for the whiners coming in. I know its early in the season but I honestly feel if the Rams lose next week then the season is over...

We don't have time for Jackson to "toughen up" or Bulger to get sharp. This is what happens when you treat the preseason as an afterthought. You have to use those games to get in some sort of a rhythm, to figure out things about your team.

Latest I've heard is a strained shoulder (said he felt it pop out and pop back in to place) with an MRI schedule for tomorrow.

So youre saying Bennett is going to be the diff between a TD and a FG every time the Rams are in the red zone? And also by your logic...Tomlinson will be fumbling a couple times today....Ill watch for that.

Last year the Rams started out by beating a team (Denver) who I believe was in the AFC title game the year prior...and the Rams started the season off by going 4 -1. You seem a tad confused.

Proof that one game does not define a season.

actually drew bennet is going to be a big factor between a fg and a td.

tomlinson has been treated by not playing the preseason for years now, he is used to it and he has a great oline, us on the other hand are inconsistant. im not confused at all, in that game against denver last year we didnt even score a td

So, all-in-all it seems it was a good thing the game was not broadcast in my area?

Let us focus on next week, then.

Re: i know some of you are concerned but.....

    1. Jackson lost two fumbles all last year. Not exactly a trend to be panic about yet. He's our franchise player - how can you be in his face so quickly?

    2. It is one game of 16. We knew the Rams would lose at minimum 6 - why panic after the first loss?

    3. The offense did the exact same plays last year. LOTS of dump off passes. If you want to panic - panic about the fact Linehan hasn't learned a single lesson.

    4. McMichael will be a non-issue until Pace gets healthy. He stayed in to help block a lot after Pace went out and that's a good thing because Goldberg WILL get Bulger killed.

    5. Fourth and Short and the defensive line is able to be in Bulger's face before he can get set in a five step drop. That's a massive problem and it isn't Bulger's fault. The defense should have been slowed partially by a run possibility yet they completely ignored it.

    6. When given time - Bulger's accuracy was absolutely horrific.

Okay, I've calmed down a bit and I'm ready to react rationally and not over-react.

We sucked today, plain and simple. We had chances to put this game away, and didn't. But the truth be told, we played a good team today and we lost. Look, the Saints lost badly in their opener and nobody's writing them off yet. It happens.

If we repeat this kind of effort next week against a divison rival, THEN we get the torches and pitchforks ready.
