I love marc bulger-again

Overall, another very solid game for bulger. He really stands in and takes the shots. Very accurate on the whole. Bad throw on the INT in the end zone, but no one is perfect. Some great hot reads on the blitz pick ups. A real bright spot in an otherwise bleak night.

Re: I love marc bulger-again

I agree. Bulger played well enough to win. Unfortunately, we can't force a turnover or make the other team punt very often. Tough to win games when that happens.

Yeah let's go with great perfomances by Bulger , but lose every game along the way! There was no high point to this game PERIOD! He had all day, Great , But so what as a whole they stunk!Anybody can throw for a thousand yards playing catch up! Thats why Jeff George had such great #s! And oh boy wasn't he a BEAUT!!!

I agree. Some folks don't see how much more is epected from bulger then other quarterbacks in the league.

Its our inability to tackle anyone or rush the passer that drives me nuts.

Totally agree, Adam is hurt, actually Edwards made alot of tackles, Williams did o.k., didnt hear his name much, Little was a non factor due to double teams, but the other three need to pick it up some when Little is a non factor, due to good offensive (Green Bay) coaching. I will always like Bulger, damn I still even like Warner still.

Re: I love marc bulger-again

Bulger played ok.....had some hits, had some misses. all in all can't complain too hard about him. However, anyone want to talk about Steven Jackson?

Re: I love marc bulger-again

Bulger looked great. The INT to Carroll was a downer, but he has stepped up this year and shows a lot of promise. With the emergence of Curtis and McDonald (two of the most underrated pick-ups in any recent draft), Marc will continue to improve.

Not without notice, the O-line looked good in pass protection at least. Grady Jackson had his way with our running game, though (ala Sam Adams last week), but they kept Bulger's jersey pretty clean.

Re: I love marc bulger-again

Bulger had a solid game, I think.

There were a couple of misses that he should have hit. I remember three overthrows that could have been placed better (one to Jackson in the flat, one to Bruce on the right side of the field about 15-20 yards on an intermediate cross, and one to McDonald near the goalline that was intermediate as well). Just on a quick sidenote since his name has been mentioned, I think McDonald is really coming around and looks to be establishing a solid rapport with Bulger. He was clearly the go-to guy last night.

The interception has me somewhat puzzled. If you're going to get one on one coverage on the outside and toss it up for your receiver to jump, the guy has to have inside position on the jump ball. You can't throw it to the outside when Bruce is hugging the sideline, and Bruce didn't have Carrol beat to the point of it being an in-stride play. Bruce didn't get outside position either. So I'm not sure if that's Bruce's fault for losing position on the play or Bulger's for going there in the first place. The pocket was collapsing on the right side and Bulger got laid out after the pass from pressure that was on the way. I don't think he was balanced on the pass to begin with.

But all in all, Marc completed 66% of his passes and had a QB rating in the high 90s. I'm not as convinced that the O-line adequately protected Bulger though. The Rams allowed four sacks and I rarely saw a clean pocket that wasn't bending or breaking on one side.

If I were to look for something to criticize about MB, it's the fact that apparently he doesn't have enough moxy to turn to sMartz and say:

"The game's unwinnable. My stats are unimportant. There is no reason for the starters to remain in there during mop up to be exposed to unnecessary injury. Put Chandler in you dimwit."

that is almost the best thing I've heard in weeks. The 4th qtr was pretty useless to have the starters in. Martz is living in a dream world that he actually has turned into a Nightmare!

Re: I love marc bulger-again

nick, i think bulger got hit just about as he threw the ball to bruce on the INT, or at least was moving sideways to avoid getting hit and that cost a little bit on the throw.

Re: I love marc bulger-again

Yeah GC, I think he was moving into the "pocket" (I use that term loosely) to avoid pressure from Grant Williams's side, and got hit soon after if not during the throw. I don't remember if it was during or after, now that you mention it.
