Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
You're probably right, Atlanta. I forgot about their minus Trent Green situation (even if he returns), so the mammal-fish might be thinking QB.
1. Dolphins. 2. Whiners / Falcons. 3. Other?
"Chris Long, come on down!" -- STL Rams.
That ought to reinforce our defense, for sure: average to good secondary; average to good LBs? And Coach Haslett as DC.

New coach????? NO WAY.....its only his first year in the NFL so no coaching changes will be made in Miami.....i wouldnt be surprised if Miami takes Chris long because of their aging defense...hopefully they will take Mc Fadden to create a double headed monster which is the new hype in the NFL. As far as Atlanta is concerned, no way they would take a DE because they just picked up Abraham this season.
P.S. i wonder who the PATS will take with the niners pick???? LOL

I agree that we are in desperate need of a hard hitting safety.

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
Not without a DL that can rush the passer we aren't. Without a solid defensive line, a stud safety is a luxury, and until that time, safety is probably seated at #3 on my "list of concerns." With that said, if the Defensive line can be adressed in free agency, and Kenny Phillips is the BPA, for sure, go get him.
I just had this crazy Idea about getting a decent free agent DL like Justin Smith, and securing the services of Chris Long....add Leonard Little to the list and oh...what a pass rush we'd have.

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
its a bit early to talk about the draft, as we all know that the combine workouts and general hype will change teams opinions on players, no matter how they played in college.
However Miami need a lot of help in alot of positions, and you could see them just take the best player available. But with the play of Ronnie Brown before his injury, i cant see them picking McFadden. SF dont need McFadden because they have Gore, and really need help just about everywhere. One team i think could take McFadden is Atlanta. Although they do need a QB, the front office might be wary of another high priced top 5 pick QB, and Warrick Dunn is on the way out.
Other possible top picks like Glenn Dorsey and Jake Long would probably be more suited to Miami than Chris Long, and they have the option of taking a QB.
SF could use help just about anywhere, but i think they could be in line to take a WR
anyway, i see the Rams as the only team witha possible top 5 pick to be the perfect fit for Chris Long

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
Miami will probably pick DT, QB or OT, IMO. So yea, I don't see them picking McFadden either. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't SF trade this years pick to the Pats so they could move up in last years draft? I don't see Atlanta picking McFadden because they're pretty high on Jerious Norwood down here, and they don't have a franchise QB. I could see the Patriots picking McFadden because there have been reports that Belicheck sp* isn't happy with Maroony. Either way, I thing the Rams will be in line to pick the top DE, if that's the direction they choose to go.

If any team is desperate for a QB, it's Miami.

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
First of all the whiners pick goes the pats and they might be a threat to tkae Long because some are projecting him to be a 3-4 OLB like Meirman then he would replace the aging Vrabel. There are big time FA DE's out there and we need to take the best shot at them Terelle Suggs and Jared Allen (top on my list) A proven big time DE like Allen would allow us to go after a Stud Safety like Kenny Phillips then our D would be a force

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
There is one looming problem with our shot at big FA's, we only have approx 9.5 million in cap space.

Re: I think we may finally be set at cornerback
Is kenny philips that good i've seen one of his games he grab an interception after it bounced off his teammates helmet but he wasn't too impressive to me an he doesn't really have the ideal wieght of a NFL SS which to me is about 215lbs
