If you know how NFL teams work, you know Carriker was Haslett's pick - or based on his input, and blessing.
Carriker - Haslett's pick
Leonard - Linehan's pick. Then he goes on to barely use Leonard by the end of the season, and this considering all our needs.
Thinking about the Draft, I'd rather have Haslett making those picks than Linehan.

Carriker - not really a knockout, but the potential is there. Does Haslett know the offensive needs of the Rams?
I'm sure to an extent he is aware of the crisis on the offensive side of the ball. We have a great quarterback, a running back who is improving as the seasons pile on him and two pro-bowl receivers with a few good ones right behind them.Quote:

However, the original poster of this thread is correct. Haslett made a great draft pick. Carriker is young, but he made it as a starter his rookie season. Putting him in the starting line up for seasons to come will only improve him. We need a few other important players on our defense. A defensive linesman and a defensive back would be key to our offseason and we need to find impact players for these positions. Whether it be draft, free agency or both.

Haslett is just bidding his time. He will be a HC--maybe for the Rams, but with the off season some teams are likely to change their dirrection and would be surprised if Haslett has a few interviews.
When Linehan was hired it was to keep the focus on the offense. But linehan wasn't up to the task of keeping a dynamic and fluid offense that was the GSOT. If nothing else, he killed it and its not likely to return
Leonard goes on to have the 3rd most yards of any rookie RB, behind 2 top 15 picks, and one top-10 pick.Quote:

In the last 4 games (SEA, ATL, CIN, GNB), Leonard's had ONE rush for 2 yards.
In the last 6 games (aforementioned plus N.O. and SanFranny) he's gotten 4 carries for 10 yards.

It's not like we could have expected him to be a playcaller like Martz.
I think Leonard has potential, but the problem is he isn't quick enough for breakaway speed as a RB, but isn't big enough to be a FB. I think he could still be utilized though.
