An Idea For Our Defense

Tawn and I were just talking about how Little, Long, and Carriker could almost join hands and play 'Red Rover' with opposing offenses, and she had a thought that it would be great if there was a competition about how many sacks these 3 will rack up during the next season.

My money's on Long - 10-1/2.

Thoughts?

While I'm really happy about Long becoming a Ram, he's no monster that will immediately dominate...

My first thought when I saw the title was: "Oh, Lord, not another 3-4 thread."

Little...when healthy should have no problem reaching double digit sacks. -- 11
Long...is still a rookie after all. -- 6
Carriker...is unlikely to lead the team in sacks as long as he plays defensive tackle, but that's okay. -- 4

Any takers for Wroten? Anyone?

Even with all this defensive line revival stuff.....I still think that Spoon gets 12 sacks and leads the team. I must be in the ultimate minority (one) but I'm not sold on Carriker yet.

Don't write the old man off yet either. I fancy Glover could get up to 6 sacks this year.

That's exactly right. I'm sort of surprised nobody gave him a guernsey earlier, considering he was the DL's leader in Sacks last season. He played very well on Haslett's "limited reps" rotation.

Mine too. It seems like the right time of year for someone to jump on the 3-4 bandwagon. I can feel it.

Nah - I've never been a fan of the 3-4 D.

I was thinking a lot of half sacks would be great. You know, guys flying in from both sides. But the potential for injury to one of our good guys in a collision with the bad guy is greater. So maybe more solo's are better.
