Re: If the EJD were going to build a Ram statute, who should be the model?
So true, Psycho! J. Slater is such an exemplary representative of the L.A. Rams era.
Again, it's so difficult to chose: Tom Mack, Jack Youngblood, even Eric The Great Dickerson, etc.
I feel that something like this, even as a hypothesis, merits players that didn't -- or don't -- necessarily make the HOF. This is why I, like others, chose Roman Gabriel. He played 10 years as a Rams QB, making a name for the team and himself in the latter part of his tenure in L.A.

Very tough decision but I am going to agree with ramfamily. I like the idea he has with Warner in the middle holding the sb trophy in the air. I will never forget that moment I can still see him raising the trophy in the air...great picture ... Good Idea ramfamily ...

How about a statue depicting "The Tackle"?
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

I'm in agreement with this, especially if we can only choose things from the St. Louis era. While there may not be one specific clear-cut player to symbolize the Rams as a franchise, this was probably one of the greatest visual images I can remember.

Awesome idea Avenger. My vote definitely would go to 'The Tackle'.

Warner, thats my pick. But what if they did like a collage of the greatest show on turf ...............Be a pretty big statue.
I stopped going to the dentist.......I got tired of the cavity searches!

How about a Charlies Angels type statue with the Proehl catch on one side to get us there, the Bruce catch on the otherside that won it and Warner holding the thropy for the championship win.

Upon further review, if there is a statue of any sort without Isaac Bruce being either the centerpiece of it or him alone, then I will personally defame it every time I see it.
Isaac Bruce deserves that honor more than any other Ram since the move to St. Louis. Any other Ram.

Good point. I say we replace Mike Jones in "The Tackle" with Isaac Bruce. Sound good?

Re: If the EJD were going to build a Ram statute, who should be the model?
I just think Isaac has proven himself to be the most redeemed Ram since the move to STL. There isn't another player, former or current, who epitomizes the Rams as does Isaac Bruce.

I think we got some great suggestions here.
Time for a poll!
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: If the EJD were going to build a Ram statute, who should be the model?
I would have to vote for Isaac at this point also. He's the only guy I can think of that played for both of the cities(how long were the Rams in Cleveland? I know they started there but I don't ever hear any Cleveland natives complaining about how L.A. stole the team. I don't really consider Cleveland to be part of the Rams' mythos.), is a career Ram and was part of a Championship/Super Bowl team.
Some of the other choices are good too: Youngblood, Waterfield, Olsen, Slater, but none of those have all three pieces of what I consider statue worthy. Longevity, championships and 100% Ram.
Being only a Ram isn't crucial but it does put a guy over the top. That's why I would take Bruce over guys like Faulk, Warner, Gabriel, Van Brocklin, Deacon, and Tony Banks(just seeing if you're paying attention).
The base of the statue should read: "AND THEY WON'T CATCH HIM TODAY!". I love that sound bite from the Super Bowl.
