If we lose Leonard......
If we lose leonard, what pass rushers should be available when we pick and is there anyone we would consider trading up a few spots to get.

Re: If we lose Leonard......
I think the Rams would have a good shot at David Pollack and Marcus Spears. If they trade up, they could look at Erasmus James or Shawne Merriman (who, at 272 lbs, could play DE).

Re: If we lose Leonard......
According to PFT Pollack will probably drop out of the first round as a result of his antics while attending his Pro workout day, during which he declined to work out opting instead to time other players running the 40, and then shout out their times.

Re: If we lose Leonard......
This is a great year to be looking for a DE. There's probably as many as a dozen that will get swooped up by the end of the 1st day. IMO, there's maybe 4 or 5 that will be starting on opening day. Even if we lose Little, I don't see a need to rush into a 1st round selection on this one.
Worst case scenario our starters next year are some combination of Hargrove/D-Lew/Tyoka/Flowers and then a 3rd or 4th round rookie like Haye/Swancutt/Gause/Verdon waiting in the wings."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: If we lose Leonard......
Oops! PFT is backing off on yesterday's story that Pollack would drop out of the first round. Apparently Pollack's workout #s were so good at the combine he did not need to repeat the cone drills or run the forty...
Does anyone know if E.Flowers is under contract for 2005? I seem to remember that he signed for just one year.

Pollack's shuttle time was pretty friggin' impressive. I doubt he falls out of the first.
At our slot in the first round, I think we've got a legit shot at Pollack, Tuck, or Roth. I have a suspicion Spears might be gone by then, but perhaps not.

The Rams need an O-line guy bad! If they trade up to get a DE, I think it is a mistake! Brown or Barren however it may be. they can find a DE in the Later rounds. I like D. CODY and he should be available in the 2nd rd. :disappoin

I really like George Gause. Could be because I've seen him play a lot. I'd hope we'd at least give this kid a serious look if he slipped to the 4th round.Worst case scenario our starters next year are some combination of Hargrove/D-Lew/Tyoka/Flowers and then a 3rd or 4th round rookie like Haye/Swancutt/Gause/Verdon waiting in the wings.
With the depth at D-End in this draft I don't want to spend a first rounder on him. I have been an advocate of the OT with the #1 pick but I also wouldn't mind trading down to grab Brodney Pool and get a late 2nd round pick too.
