Re: If you had 1 sentence to critique the Rams' first two weeks...

My sentence wouldn't focus on Bradford exclusively, but as it would probably be about the team making too many mistakes through the first two weeks, he'd fall under its umbrella. But if we had to narrow it down to specific players or units, he'd be no where near the worst offenders.

Sam has some areas of his game he needs to clean up; for instance, in the first half of this last game, I think he struggled seeing the whole field and seemed hesitant to test the defense. Since he's the face of the franchise, even more so now that Jackson has moved on, he's going to be the focus of more discussions.

But I think any honest observer would acknowledge that Sam has done far more good through two games this season than bad, and was a significant reason the Rams won their Week One game and had a chance to win in Week Two.

And at the end of the day, that's all I look for in a Sam Bradford discussion - honesty. If you're going to point out his mistakes, then you should also point out his successes. If you're going to praise him for outstanding play, then acknowledge times when he also needs to do better.

If the typical Bradford discussions adhered to that standard, then I don't think they'd be illogical or nearly as monotonous.

    Sorry for the rant.

    Pretty right on rant IMO.

As far as the original question, no, SB would not be in the sentence, which would say...

Rams are a very, very young team, that is one year way from the worst 5 year stretch in NFL history, and that has been gutted, (in a good way), and is learning to play together.

And Atlanta is a very good team.
    At home.
    After a loss.

A little patience is in order.

That said, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed in the offense, given (pun intended), all our new speed/weapons.

That's all well and good, but emphasis matters too.

If I go to a restaurant and order a steak and fries, and they bring me a moldy, rancid steak with a side of slightly overcooked fries, I'm not going to lead off by saying "these fries are unacceptable."

If he doesn't then he will be an easy cap saving next year and I'm already thinking that a high draft pick may be used in that area.
JJ hasn't been perfect by any means but he is far from being the main problem.
Have to agree with HS. Seems like Jenkins is only concern about making the big play while neglecting all other duties and task at hand. Sometimes a third down stop is just as good as a turnover but don't dare tell this to Jenkins.

After two weeks I am thoroughly disgusted with the defense, especially the pass defense, and I am concerned that the new DC is a big part of the problem.

I think 2 games is too small a sample to draw that conclusion.

Yeah, perhaps, but it's just a concern not a foregone conclusion! And the next time you ask I won't bother responding!

Re: If you had 1 sentence to critique the Rams' first two weeks...

I am not worried about Sam or the offense.

But I AM worried about the defense. Weaknesses at LB and safety had me concerned during pre-season, but our CB play has been a joke and I thought that would be a strength. The Rams have one of the best defensive front fours in the NFL, yet they're not getting enough pressure on the QB. What happened to the blitz? Don't recall seeing more than a handful in two games. And as I said, Jenkins still plays like a rookie, and Finnegan is playing like an old man.

But I'm going to be patient. They were not supposed to win Sunday, and they did not. But they were competitive in the second half against a team that is supposed to be a favorite to get to the SB. If they can win one of the next two, I think they'll be right on track.

Both of Sam Bradfords picks were off of tips. One definitely wasn't his fault. He deserves a little critique but not a lot.

Wish D played like last year, and offense keeps playing like this year.
