I'm Getting TOO Old For This.....

That was gut wrenching! I aged at least 10 years. The penalties, the turnovers, and the sloppy play were maddening, but the way this team kept it's composure, battled back, and got the win, made me proud. A statement was made today IMO. The worst kind of game to watch, the best to win.

    HOW 'BOUT THEM RAMS!

Re: I'm Getting TOO Old For This.....

The Rams are going to have a lot of things to look at and work to correct on film, but one thing that I think really impressed me about this team is how they responded after the Cardinals went up by 11.

On the very next drive, the Rams marched down the field and scored on a touchdown pass to Jared Cook, then converted on the two point conversion. The defense responded by forcing a fumble in Arizona territory, and the Rams tied the game with a field goal. After some back and forth, with less than two minutes to go, the Rams got into field goal territory and took the lead.

Gut check time, and the Rams passed the test. Way to go!

Here's the difference... we now have enough firepower to make all those mistakes (and there were a lot of them) and still come back.

When was the last time we could say that?

    Hey you old b@st@rd!

That was a great game and and a great win! The last 8 years or so has taught me to lower my expectations. For the most part it works for me as I was relaxed throughout the game.

Re: I'm Getting TOO Old For This.....

Could've very easily been a much different conversation on the forum. To our credit, the Rams battled, overcame mistakes and got a much needed home win vs. a divisional opponent. Bradford played well. Cook played well. I thought Richardson did a nice job overall. Quinn with 3 sacks- an excellent performance. The other receivers, while not putting up huge numbers, were all involved and contributed, including Austin (decent debut) and Quick (narrowly missed a TD).

On the flip side, we've got to minimize the penalties (an old story). Maybe we're better than we were a year ago, but no team- especially a team still finding their way- can consistently overcome shooting itself in the foot. Cook fumble on the 3. Bradford INT on the goal line. Three personal fouls. Long holding penalty negating an early big gain. Gotta' be better. The most glaring negative today was Finnegan, who was terrible. Two personal fouls and looked like he couldn't defend a trash can. Get it together, Cortland.

Like Mike said, tough game to watch as it was looking bad for awhile, but a great job battling and coming back to start off the season on a good note. Let's enjoy it.

The first thing I thought of was a 98 (???) game against the 49whiners when the RAMS recovered a turn over, and fumbled it at the 1, which was converted to a TD.

    And what did he have?

Bradford, a team leader at age 25, was a big reason for that. In the fourth quarter he completed eight of 10 passes for 76 yards, a touchdown and a 131.7 passer rating.

Bradford conducted an eight-play, 80-yard TD drive that ended in a 1-yard pass to Cook, followed by Bradford’s swift run for a 2-point conversion. The Rams had launched their comeback, down 24-21.
