'Luck' is on our side...
Are you kidding me! So awesome! Now minne just has to win one of these two weeks; and Indy just needs to beat a bad jags team and we have the first overall pick. Amazing, the bounty we can get on this. I'm so pumped right now. I was going nuts after Wayne scored that touchdown.
;) so am i... u know minnesota gonna win atleast one game with peterson back!!! im so happyy!!!!
God is with us. Indy can beat Jacksonville and Minnie needs to beat the Redskins and Bears, both doable. This is just amazing.
Also the 1st overall pick is another thing to be able to offer a potential head coach if they come here!
well.. i just read.. that the LUck is worth 3 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks.. maybe 4 1st round picks.. which i wil be so happy with!! and i think we do have the easier schedule compared to both teams.. AP will win one more game.. and i think we beat the colts in Strength of schedule..
OMg if we can get the 1st round pick i would be so happy. The trade leverage we would have for that pick would be insane. And with Barkley staying at USC for another year that just drove the price up even more!!!
Too bad since we are the rams and everyone hates us, Curtis Painter will somehow "accidentally" fumble the ball away on the last drive of the game, and picked up by the Jags for the game winning td. All the while Bill Polian is smiling while just coming off the phone.
Orlavasky... not painter ! seems like orlavasky or however you spell it has changed up their franchise in the past games he's been in..
The title of this thread has been edited to reflect the fact that a lot still needs to happen before the Rams actually get the first pick.
No one can be certain what's going to transpire, over the remaining two weeks.? But with all the bad luck the Rams have endured this season. It would be lovely to get something back, a little something to soften all them blows we have took. This could be just the tonic we need right now, going into the off season.
To me, this is hardly something to gloat over, especially given our recent draft history. NOBODY is giving up 3 or 4 future 1st round picks for Luck or any player, for that matter. Indianapolis showed some pride in winning this game- and in the process silenced the legions of moronic fans out there who suggest a team tank games for the benefit of a higher draft pick. I suggest we as fans show the same type of pride in hoping our team wins the next two weeks- as unlikely as that may be.
While tanking it is about the worst sportsmanship an organization can do and a huge insult to the paying fans and followers, there is some precedent of it being a very unpleasant but successful tactic. The NHL Penguins did it 1984 in order to draft Mario Lemieux and later won 2 Stanley Cups. He also saved the franchise in Pittsburgh back then because they had no money or attendance at the time, and of course later bought the team to save it once again.
By "tanking it," I mean they called up every minor league player possible and benched usual starters on an already bad team. It was pretty blatant too. Under different ownership many years later, they went into the tank to again draft another generational superstar in Sidney Crosby and won another SC from that, though the tank job they pulled then wasn't as blatant as 1984.
I don't think Luck's talent level is on par with a Mario or Crosby or that he's a "once a generation" type QB that teams are honestly going to give up 3 1st rounders and multiple 2nd rounders for.
How is the 1st pick a good thing for the Rams. It only means we will have to pay more money for Blackmon/Kalil. And Indy takes Luck with the 2nd pick.
