Avery has knee sprain: Rams rookie WR Donnie Avery, who sprained his right knee Thursday night in the preseason finale at Kansas City, was limited to light work and running Monday, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
(Updated 09/02/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - Questionable for Week 1 at Philadelphia
(Updated - 9/2/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Avery will likely be fine for the season opener against the Eagles, but don't plan on using him in your Fantasy leagues this week. Your best bet is to keep him reserved and hope he can make an impact as the season goes on.

Bennett probable for season opener: Rams WR Drew Bennett (groin) was held out of Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs. However, head coach Scott Linehan expects him to be ready for Week 1 against the Eagles. Bennett finished the preseason with four catches for 34 yards.

Injury Report
Groin - Missed Aug. 28 preseason game at Kansas City. Probable for Week 1 at Philadelphia
(Updated - 8/29/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Last year -- Bennett's first with the Rams -- he had 33 catches for 375 yards with three scores. He wound up missing the season opener with a quad injury, which lingered through the season. It's not a good sign he is battling injury again, but the Rams expect a bit more production from him in 2008. Bennett makes sense as a nice reserve Fantasy WR since he starts.
Hall inactive for preseason finale: Rams WR Dante Hall (ankle) did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Chiefs, but is expected to play Week 1 against the Eagles. Hall had two catches for 30 yards in the preseason.

Injury Report
Ankle - Missed Aug. 28 preseason game at Kansas City. Probable for Week 1 at Philadelphia
(Updated - 8/29/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Hall is a special teams guru, but hardly plays on offense. He is not a recommended Fantasy WR heading into 2008.
(Updated 08/29/2008).
Leonard misses preseason's finale: Rams RB Brian Leonard (shoulder) was inactive for Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs. His status for Week 1 against the Eagles remains in question. Leonard finished the preseason with 13 carries for 50 yards and three receptions for 19 yards.

Injury Report
Shoulder - Missed Aug. 28 preseason game at Kansas City. Questionable for Week 1 at Philadelphia
(Updated - 8/29/08)
Fantasy Analysis
While Leonard will have a role in the Rams' offense this season as a blocker, rusher and receiver, his cumulative stats aren't expected to come close to making him a worthwhile Fantasy option. He is pretty much nothing more than a handcuff Fantasy option for Steven Jackson owners.

O.J. Atogwe,
FS Atogwe has another strong year: One bright spot in the Rams' secondary in 2007 was DB O.J. Atogwe, who totaled 75 tackles (66 solo) with eight interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown) and 12 passes defensed. He finished as a top-10 Fantasy DB in standard-scoring leagues that reward tackles. Better yet (for him), Atogwe will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

Injury Report
No information available at this time (Updated 9/2/08).
Fantasy Analysis
Look for Atogwe to get paid to stay with the Rams for at least one more season. As far as Fantasy DBs go, he's not bad so long as he keeps up the great passing D stats. Think of him as a low-end No. 1/top-end No. 2 option in IDP leagues this summer, worth a middle- to late-round pick in all formats.
